I just got the tranny and it was supposed to be rebuilt but i put a steeda short throw shifter in the car and just recently i missed 4th and now it grinds if i try and speed shift ..any ideas i know the most likely 1 is synchro but i thought the short throw with the adjustable stops was supposed to eliminate all of that...i really dont wanna pull the tranny because thiswill be the 4th time in like 2 months

Uh the adjustable stops do not help eliminate a missed gear, they are there to eliminate over throwing a shift and breaking a shift fork or destroying a shift rail. Missing a gear cones the synchro out, and it can only take 1 missed gear to cause it to be trashed.

Welcome to the wonderfull world of mustang ownership.. I could pull a mustang trans out blindfolded....!! and yes an aftermarket shifter does help. but every stock trans has brass blocking rings and alum. shift forks. very week link..

Uhmmmm yeah, there is no shifter or gizmo thats going to guarantee saving the internals of a tranny when missing a shift. Otherwise we would all just install the gizmo and skip the clutch all together.
