Patriot Heads?????

Can you guys tell me if these look like patriot heads or just stock castings? Here are some pics. He says there is a stamping 1608A on the front end by the freeze plug. He says they are from an 01 mustang. The numbers say they started out as PI heads for sure but thats all I can tell for sure. I can send you the bigger pics if anyone knows what they are looking for. Any help would REALLY be appreciated. Im thinking these arent what he says he is. Already found out the cams are stock which he say were comp cams stage IIs. THANKS!

Patriot heads do not have labeling or stamping on them. You will have to look at the valves and possibly measure them. They put larger valves in the stage 1's and they port and polish the stage 2's with also larger valves. Stage 3 is even larger valves and the port work is even more intensive.

Honestly, if the heads are just stage 1's there really isn't much more to them than a stock set of heads.

i talked to a guy at patriot on friday and he said they should have a 4 or 5 digit stamp on the front by the freeze plug. I know patriot sells bare stage 2 heads so not sure about the valves either. The guy just sent me this pic so that atleast looks promising. I have never seen a marking like this on stock heads.

Nevermind these arent ported at all I can see the swirl dam in the combustion chambers and thats the first thing to go in porting from patriot. Just another guy trying to scam someone. Pathetic. These are listed on craigslist in fort wayne. Stay sway!

Maybe he didn't know (he bought them used being told that)? Did you inform him and did he change the ad accordingly?

He had a long story about what could have happened but yes I did tell him so I will watch to make sure he changes the ad or will have everyone I know start flagging it. Basically he had his car put back to stock and I think the guy that did the work handed him stock heads and cams in the patriot and comp cams place. This guy didnt seem to know much about mechanics so I guess it could happen. If I were him and this really happened to me, either that mechanic would be in jail or I would be in jail!lol
