Seeing if anyone knows anything about these bikes. Just got one on a trade and been searching for info on them and found they were one of the faster bikes back then and are on the rare side because they were only made for 2 years... is that right?

Yeah I heard they ran well... this only has 14000 miles on it but it looks as if it sat outside those 26 years. I got it running yesterday to the point where i could ride it a bit but then it started cutting out around 4000 rpms, i think it has some old nasty 87 octane in it which would cause that problem, but it ran good up to that point.

One of the ugliest bikes ever built, in my opinion.

Suzuki's 1200 V4 is a monster of a motor. Not quite the beast that the VMax was, but they're not slow. They don't handle for shit and have sketchy electrics, but that pretty much is true for any 80s Japanese bike.

The carbs on any old Japanese bike don't take well to sitting with bad gas in them. Give them a good clean/rebuild and it should wake the bike right up. K&L should offer a rebuild kit for the carbs. You should be able to do it right for about $100.

If you need motor parts, they share a lot with the Suzuki Cavalcade, and they made a ton of those.

It would be a cool basis for a chopper...get rid of the ugly and some of the weight and ride the piss out of it.

it don't look too hateful, but the big old front tire makes it sit weird! I did see that the V65 was faster than these they said not by much.

Once it runs right i will be riding this beast!!! Put my feet up on the highway bars and set the cruise control. ALRIGHT!!!

I had the chance to take one out for a spin. The power was incredible! Thank God the brakes were up to par! I'd LOVE to have one! :D

Very, very rare as well. :bigthumb

I thought I would share a funny story about riding my Dad's Madura. I was probably 19, and it was Easter, a friend of mine dressed up as a Easter Bunny for some our friends who were having a Easter party for their kids. I had my friend get on the bike and we went riding through the neighborhood so he could wave to the kids. Well, we went out on an old country road and I decided to crank on it a little bit, at about 95mph my friend started yelling " SLOW DOWN, MY EARS ARE ABOUT TO FALL OFF". That still makes me laugh.
