I've heard of vent tubes getting plugged. I have heard that if a charcoal cannister gets plugged you will likely smell heavy gas vapor (if memory serves correctly). Good luck. A schematic overview of the system would tell more. Ever thought of buying the Ford tech manuals? I love having them on hand. Helped massively when I had questions on my 05. Bought them on EBAY. Only wish I had also purchased the ECM?emissions manual as well. Will purchase the same for the 13 when they are finally available.

are there any issues with it running/driving? i only ask because my 93 has always had what i consider an excessive amount of pressure blead off when removing the cap. summer time mostly but it never effected how it ran.

it seems to be ok . just never had a car hold that much pressure so i was worried .car is never out n bad weather . last yr i only put 500 miles on it . im going to pick up a new canister and see if it helps . if not im dropping tank to change vent and blow out the lines . i just dont want the tank to split or swell
