Anyone ever attempted to acid port a upper intake manifold, I've been doing alot of reading lately on the subject but I'm still unsure of the complexity of the procedure.

From what I remember, this process was used to treat the surface of ported heads and intakes to give them a cast appearing surface. AKA cheating in classes that required unported heads.

From what I have been reading this is used to actually remove the material from the runners but I have never done it so I was just wondering how difficult it is but what I'm reading might be completely wrong u never know about the Internet

Sounds like a good way to screw up an intake. There is no easy way to remove material consistently and evenly.

We did it on an explorer intake for fun. It cleaned it nicely and about consumed us with the odor! This is a popular method on old school blower housings. Like 6-71s and 8-71s.
