Antone know of a good tint guy on the east side? Looking to get my fiances Scion tinted without driving to Fairfield. Any hookups or places close to Eastgate that doesn't rip you off on tint? I typically go to The Tint Guy, but I don't think I can sneak a surprise when driving all the way out there.

I think there's a detail shop on Beechmont called Perferred that tints windows.

Pro Audio in eastgate does window tint. Pretty damn good job too. They are also called lineX, they are
near the eastgate Harley-Davidson store.

took the words right out of my mouth that's the only place on the eastside i'd go LineX does a great job their warranty is excellent as well and plus it's attached to a tire store or whatever so you can check out car audio, rims and tires, and if you get really board about 50 yards behind it is a KOI

I just had our explorer done at Jay's in Amelia. He's in the old Valvoline building. Did a great job and doesnt stick it to ya on pricing. Pro audio wanted 90 for just my two doors. Jay's did em for 60.

Thanks for the advice. The last time I went to Pro Audio they had a 3 week wait, AND double the price at The Tint Guy. I will give them a ring and see what they say...they are 3 miles down the street lol.

Are you talking about The Tint Guy in Fairfield? I would not driver out here for him. I had my daughter's car done there and it's been back several times. He can't get the tint to look right, lots of bubbles.

Yeah that is him. I have only had one car tinted by him, and he did a great job. But...I didn't get a window strip...so I didnt have the bubbles to worry about around the rear view mirror. I wasn't "impressed" with some of his work since then on other cars, so I am looking for a new place closer to home.

Scheduled up an appointment with Pro Audio. They're $10 more expensive than Spade for tint, but they are half what Spade wanted for my head unit install so I'm going to go with Pro Audio.

I am in desperate need of some tint. I got an estimate from Jay's this week and felt like it was a little high and he told me if I want a piece of black vinyl at the top of my back window they would have to put it on the outside. What? I definitly dont want that. Ive seen videos of people putting it on the inside. Has anyone ever used the precut window tint? I sent spade an email to get a quote and never heard anything back.

I think that I will go to Jay's as well. It is close, and I don't have a lot of time this time of year to travel. Thanks for the help everyone.

Hey Tommy did jays quote you on taking that old glue off too? Its basically like paying twice. I asked him about redoing the tint on mine and that's what he quoted me at too. But like I told ya it really isn't that hard to get it off.
Here's a pic of the explorer. He did the front two windows and they match pretty damn well.

He didnt say anything about the glue. This isnt a lot on there. Ill probably clean it off before I take it somewhere. He just kind of stood there and didnt look much at the windows. He said he was new. The quote wasnt extremely high I was just hoping it would be cheaper. The vinyl on the outside is what got me. I definitly want the vinyl on there but not on the outside. He said they have never had an issue with tinting over the DOTs but everyone Ive talked to said it bubbles up everytime. I know they do good work I just dont want to spend that much if I dont have to.

Hmm well then I'd just have them tint it and if it bubbles up take it back and have them redo it but this time leave the dots untinted. Then just put the vinyl on the inside yourself. I've had cars with the dots done and it stuck. Its done on this car too and its just barely coming undone. But you can tell its been on there for years.

Let me know how he does. I don't take any stock in pictures of tint that people put up, because from 10' away or more they all look great unless they are purple/blue lol. I have walked up to several cars with tint lately and its cut crooked, or bubbles, or fold marks in the corners. I like a quality job that looks great. I have been lucky so far on tint though.

Keep in mind, you're asking a company to do something illegal enough to lose everything they worked for. An installer can run down the street to the next shop (if he doesn't get prosecuted) when a business closes. Don't best hard on the guys that are just covering their asses.

I see that they have changed it a bit. On the other hand, do you have any idea what you're going to get at 70%? Might as well cover it with Saran wrap. It's about as dark.

It may not be dark but am I correct in thinking it will help reduce heat and cut uv rays down? So the int is less likely to fade and my steering wheel to feel like molten lava after sitting in the sun at work all day?

you are correct and it with just some tint will help reduce heat in the car meaning you use the ac less better MPG and longer life of the car. plus health reasons

It won't do shit for heat, but the uvshould be down by about 99% I tinted mine with 50%
