I know it's not a strong trans, but can I use it to get the car on the road. It's the 98 v6 t5, if I change the input shaft to an 87-93 shaft, get an 87-93 bellhousing, flywheel, and clutch, is that all I need? Thanks

Just get a 94,95 gt bell housing and it will work fine. I had one in a h/c/i fox that took a hell of a beating and held up great

What's the difference in the v6 to 94-95 bellhousing? I have read some people say something about the starter? Which flywheel/clutch would I go with then?

If you want to keep the fuel injection, I have a 94 5.0 harness and computer.

The V-6 bell housing uses a different size flywheel and clutch setup. The 94-95 bell housings are 3/4 taller if compared side to side with a earlier Bell housing. This is why the input shafts are longer and will not fit with a earlier style T-5 bell housing. It will cause it to bottom out before the transmission comes in contact with the housing face. The input shaft aren't always a direct change as their multible types.
Use a 94-95 bell housing and fork and you will be ok. You'll also need to grind spot welds off the transmission crossmember so that it can move back the difference of the new bell housing.
If you could find a 1999 or newer V-6 transmission youd be better off as their very good transmissions. In that case you'll need the earlier T-5 tailshaft housing as it is different also then the 99 and ups . Measure and mark a spot to drill for the clip holding your speedometer gear on the output shaft. Its hardened so you'll need a carbide drill. I've done a few of these and they held up better than the stock world class T-5s.
