Help with GoPro Uploads

Ok, so I got a GoPro not too long ago and just used it this past weekend at Tristate in the Grand Prix.

Now I am trying to Upload one of the videos to youtube and am having a heck of time. I am using the software from GoPro to change the format from mpg4 to a AVI but youtube is saying that my 50 sec video is going to take 45 mins to upload!!??

Is this right, or am I doing something wrong?? I even took the video down to 848 x 480 from the orginal 1280 x 960, to help with the upload.

I am so siked to have this GoPro, but getting pretty frustated posting videos, if anyone can help me, or point me in the right direction, that would be great!!

My videos took a long tine to upload to youtube also. A 1:24 long vid took about 45 minutes. It all depends on your internet speed.

You can try Vimeo instead. Ive had better luck with that over You Tube.

i use windows live movie maker, works very well,

depending on the settings you've chosen, the files can be very large

Can you cut the resolution of the videos you make? That would help make the file to be converted much smaller. I can't see any reason for an HD dashcam video myself.
