So I have been running a Team Z K-member for a little over a year now. Low and behold my motor is now laying on my Right shock tower. The plate on that side that the motor mount sits in has bent, collapsed whatever it be. So I called Dave up at Team Z this morning and explained to him what was going on. No questions asked....I was told by him that he will get one out the door to my door and to send him mine back!!!!

Watch out guys this problem is catchy. I know of 4 now this year, from 3 different k member brands. Steve your the second guy I know of that Dave @ Team Z has replaced the part no questions asked. Others were on solid mounts but yours weren't solid?

I'm not one to tell someone how to design their parts, but IMO, an 1/8" plate cut into a wedge with a few lightening holes would solve this problem without adding a whole lot of weight, or even another piece of pipe from the mount plate to the member.

Well it happened the night before but wasnt nearly that bad until my 2nd to last pass at the Nationals.

It might explain why I was having some issues on powershifting from 3-4 this weekend. But I am just grateful that Dave is making it right.

I would take the time and prep it and weld a small piece of steel in there so it wouldnt happen again.I could see an issue with putting metal in there and still having access to the engine mount nut.

I bet if you modify it, and bend/break it again..... they'll tell ya to get lost....

I thought about that after I posted, since he is getting it replaced for free. But it would still suck to have to pull one every so often when they should just pony up the extra money for the good metal on the perch's.

I agree. I've never ever heard of one doing that before.

Hell yeah!!! Well when I spoke with them yesterday and asked them if they ever had this problem before. They said yes one other time they had one do it. I thought to myself...I know that guy! LOL!! Just seen him the other day at the track. It was he infact who told me and showed me some pics of his. Damn Rich its a small world. I didnt tell them about you. Otherwise they may have started to wonder what the hell were doing to these things. Running hopped up diesel motors and pulling sleds with them.

I really thought it was the "HPM" style solid mounts I was running that caused mine to do. But after seeing yours do it with factory mounts, makes me wonder. Was your old 347 using the factory mounts also?

It's not just a TEAM Z thing either. Rick did the same thing with an UPR and Mike Field did it with a PA. In fact we all did it the same night at the track. The only thing in common was high rpm launches on slicks.

I have switched over to Team Z mounts, they are designed a bit different. We'll see what happens. For the record, I am nothing but pleased with Team Z and their products. Dave and Brandon Alsept (who I purchase my Team Z parts through) are the best and back their products!
