Drove this morningto get coffee. Wentto go get oil for wifees car 2 hours ago and won't start. Pulled #1 plug and looks dry as a popcorn fart after 3-5 minutes of start attempts. No smell of fuel in he cylinder. Cranks great just won't hit. Checked 20A Fuel pump fuse. Good. Swapped out Fuel pump Relay... no luck.

Never hear the fuel pump turn on at initial key on so think pump went south on me.

1/8th+ in the tank.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Id take a battery disconnect the fuel wiring and fuel hose and jump the pump... if you get fuel out, then you know its somewhere else.... if it doesnt come flying out, the pump is done....

Good idea. Never thought of that. Will pop the Fuel filter Sunday and hit it with a 12V. WIll also pick up some starting fluid to see if it will at least hit off while turning over to verify spark. Thanks.

just put a fuel pressure gauge on it first, then check to see if you have power at the pump when cranking if you don't have power it's electrical relay or something like that. If you do the pump is bad. If you have fuel pressure check for noid at the injector connections. no noid is usually a bad cam sensor, but could be a failed pcm.

Thanks Alan. Already swapped out the Fuel pump Relay so that is notthe issue. Will pick up a pressure gauge as well. I never hear the pump turn on and stop like it should when I put the key to the on (not start) position.

Maybe you could enlightne me on the term "noid". I am not savy to that term. Sorry. Thanks for the info. WIll break out the meter tomorrow nad dig into it a little further.

it's just a little light bulb you unplug the injector and plug it in then try to start it it will flash if the pulse is working if it doesn't no pulse

With your wife cranking the starter, give the fuel tank a couple of hard whacks with your hand. 9 times out of 10 you can get the fuel pump to restart like this...once.....

Of course if she is pissed at you for any reason, you may want to watch she doesn't back over you....

I'll also assume you have a full tank of gas. Fuel pumps always seem to go out right after a fill-up.

Thanks guys. I'm with you. Been meaning to pick up one of these. I just know them as a test light. Thanks.

No was fortunate this time Dave. About an 1/8th in there. I may try the slap method but think I will find a friend who also doesn't find my wife attractive. LOL!

Make sure the inertia switch isn't tripped. Never know.

Forgot about that. Believe it is on the passenger side behind the kick panel. THanks.

Inertia switch was not tripped. Too bad. Cranked the engine then checked for pressure on the rail at the schraeder relief valve. Nothing but a dribble. Will double check pulse to injectors and then back proble the fuel pump for voltage while cranking tjust ot make sure. THanks for all of the help.

Crapped out fueld pump. Verified voltage to pump under start confition at pump. Pump no turny. Verified no pressure. Thanks for the help. BTW - Did the slap thing on the tank it worked for long enough to drive around the block then died in the driveway.
