Does any one know roughly how much it would cost to replace both rear wheel bearings in my 2000 GT? I'm pretty sure the drivers side is bad, and figure its smarter to replace both at the same time. I've read up on how to replace them, and right now I don't have the means to change them myself, so unfortunately I'll probably have to take it to a shop. Thanks in advanced for any help.

I would recommend replacing all the rear end bearings while in the since rear end has to come apart either way

The entire rearend doesn't have to come apart but chances are good you need axles if the bearings are bad they ride on the axles.
Usually thats a sign it's been leaking and the bearings went dry so rebuilding the entire thing may be required.

Well I work at Ford in Alexandria and I had one of the mechanics look at it, he drove it and heard the noise...took it in the shop and put it on the lift and had another mechanic get in it and "drive" it on the lift while he listened underneath it...long story short the noise went away because it didn't have any weight on it, it still is there when driving on the road. He suggested buying new rear end gears (since I already want them, and your there anyways) and the bearing installation kit so all the bearings are new...??? I'm not sure what to do since it has 147K on it now and its my DD...
