Yea I know its not ideal but I've seen a lot of stick cars on the bumper over the net running them. Wats the approach getting hooked an out the hole? I have full suspension front to rear 90/10s 130/14" coils up front 10 ways w stock rear springs an upright pro series rear kit. Car is a tko600 w 4.56s etc. Trying fig were to start on rear shocks setting launch techniques etc. Any help appreciated

Your going to have to test to find the right shock setting for your car. I think the biggest thing is also the clutch. You cant have one that is to aggresive or it will just hit the tires to hard and blow them off.

Where is the center of gravity on the car? How much does it weigh?

Mike hit the nail on the head here, my stock coupe pulled a 1.68 on shot bfg drag radials stock springs with 90/10s, believe it was easy 1.5s with a new set of mt's, still not as good as a slick but still respectable short times for what it was

Only the rears are adjustable so all you can do is setting 4-5 and play with weight ballance of the car and launch RPMs
And tire PSI

I've been 1.43 60' on BFG's, 1.45-1.49 consistently and i don't exactly have a ton of HP. Main key is having the right clutch (ACT for me), using the clutch right on the launch to not kill the tires, and then weight distribution, suspension set-up (Team-Z), shock settings (QA1 double adjustables), etc.
Tire pressure important. A lot of people try to run the pressure to low which lets the tire cup up in the center at the hit.

Car is a coupe @2800# need recheck the center. Maybe 400hp has been 1.54 60s w old c4 leaving @2200 but that was before I ran 90/10s. I think ur right about pressure as I run to low. I guess I will start out around 5 on rears an slip it out instead dumping it

BTW its n/a an just a solid roller Windsor w cheap heads
5 pounds in the rear tire? What tire are you running?
This is from Mickey Thompson tech pages.
ET STREET RADIAL
On the racetrack DO NOT use starting pressures below 11 psi.
Recommend pressures for:
P295 and larger sizes: 12-16 psi
P275 and smaller sizes: 14-18 psi
On the highway we recommend running 75% -100% of maximum psi stated on the sidewall of the tire. This will vary depending on the weight of the vehicle.

No I was talking bout shock setting on 5 I've been between 14-18# on my tires. 275/60 MT. Gonna start at 22# an slip out around 4k to start w shocks on 5 an go from there

I believe James went like 1.58 on his setup but that was an 8.5 slick. That thing comes out hard on the video lol. I'll be happy if I can get mine down to 1.6 on radials this year it will need some adjustments for sure.

On a radial you don't want any squat. You need to plot the rear suspension and see where your anti squat is at, instant center length and height. This will play a huge part in keeping the tire planted after the 60. I like my car sitting in the weeds, it was expensive because I had to make all the mounting points on the rearend adjustable, on a 3854X Mickey drag radial(28.3") my fender lip is 26" off the ground. And I still managed to get 145% A/S, 31.5" instant center length, and 8" instant center height.. I've done alot of research on this subject and Dave Zimmermans recommendations go a long way.

I forgot to add I would tighten the shocks completely. Single adjustable strange shocks adjust compression, which on a radial you want none of. You actually want a little bit of seperation.
