I know this issue has been covered a million times but I would like some opinions on whether to run 3.73 or 4.10 gears in my fox, it is a 5 speed heads, cam, intake lx 5.0 I'm currently running 3.55 but it needs more for the cam

Depends on how much you drive it and your gas mileage preference lol, my theory is, go big or go home, you'll have to correct the speedo either way

Well it's not a DD, it's more of a weekend toy

4.10's should work good with the 5 speed.

Don't fear the gear.

4.10 for sure power over gas mileage. You don't buy a mustang for gas mileage

Well I guess that means its time for 4.10's, I'm gonna wait till the cbus swap before I buy a set

U can buy a set on here cheaper than the swap meet....usually when someone posts a want add for them it seems like 3 of them come up.for sale

410 with a 5 speed is perfect IMO. Do it and dont look back

iv always heard 3.73 for 5 speed and 4.10 for auto,,

i run 3.73 in my 93 lx 5speed with 165 afr heads e303 cam and 96 explore engine/gt40p intake 75mm throttle body and 70mm mas, iv not had it tuned yet but it is very stong and the gear has always worked well with any setup i have ran, i have had these gears in a stock 94 gt and a 97 gt 4.6 auto with stage 2 pi swap and comp cams and it rolled out best time of 11.50 on street tires

either one will be good - its a matter of what rpm you dont mind crusing at?

There is always the option of the infamous 3.90

Yeah but I want to run ford racing gears and they don't offer a 3.90 or that's what I would run

Well I took the plunge and ordered new frpp 4.10 gears and a install kit along with new axle bearings and seals, now the trick is going to be to get them installed. I've never done a set of gears but I have access to all the right tools and I've been collecting alot of info so wish me luck unless there is someone close that can do it cheap

I almost had 3.73's put in my 5 speed - I'm glad I got 4.10's.

I get 26MPG on my 5 speed with 4.10s on the highway, 18MPG city. 2100RPM's @ 65mph.

the install not to hard just make sute you and between the tolerance of whatever the 4.10 is and it will be fine, ooh and good gear oil lol

Got royal purple gear oil and friction modifier and the diff already has the carbon fiber clutch packs installed that was done when the 3.55 was installed

Andy Law does gears too. If you end up taking the T5s to him, could get the gears done as well.

I think I'm gonna tackle this job myself since I have a lift and all the right tools at my disposal, shouldn't be too hard just time consuming and tedious

I'm not as lucky as it may seem my best friend has a quite large well equipped garage I help him on his projects all the time he has a really nice twin turbo fox I'm going to try to get him to come along to some events this year
