Project can't shift

HAHA thought I would start a mini build thread..... going from a t-5 to a PA
C4, the auto I bought off here froma memeber, it has a Lupo foot brake converter, no trans brake. Through the T-5 the car made 541 rwhp. It is a 95 cobra with a B&G turbo kit. The reason I am going to the auto is that I wont powershift the trans, and I am tired of running 12.0's lol. Also the car is going to get a tubular k memeber, front and rear coil overs, strange 10 ways front and rear, and upper and lower control arms. The rear end already has a rebuilt trac-loc and 31 spline axles.

AS FAR AS THE NEW CONVERTER AND THE BRAKE GOES, WHEN I BUILD A NEW MOTOR I WILL ADDRESS ALL THAT, IM JUST CURIOUS TO SEE HOW IT WILL WORK IN ITS CURRENT FORM. THEY SAY IT WILL BE A NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE, BUT I KNOW PROBABLLY THE CONVERTER NOT BEING SET UP FOR THE CAR AND NO BRAKE WILL HURT IT'S FULL POTENTIAL

If the converter wasn't built for a turbo application it isn't going to be worth a shit, if it is in fact for a turbo car it can be re stalled for 150 bucks through ptc and they are great guys to deal with

So I figured what the heck, I will get the auto in and see what it does. I have no expectations for the car, I am not out to whoop on anyone, just out to see what it does. haha till the bench grinder comes out, SHIFTER bezzles get broken, shifter plates get shot across rooms, and finger tips get ground lol!! Must say that I really appreciate all the hard work and effort that my friends have helped me with. Also being out in the garage with them and working on the car has renewed my itch to get it done and go do some burnouts!! I also have another question, I was looking into some aftermarket front brake pads for it, does anyone have any advise or reccomendations on where to go and what brake pads to use?? Like EBC???

Glad to help out anytime, Just be ready to help drop in mine when its ready!!!!!! LOL. As far as brakes, I reccomend stock, should not have any issues stopping a mid 13 second car.:dummy:

In the 95gt i had, I ran a C4 with a PTC converter.

What was the engine set up? Power? Stall?

It was a 306 with performer heads, t76. Made 580whp on pump gas. Not sure what the stall speed was, 3500ish id say.

wow and didnt have block issues?? Im hitting 540 right now with cast iron heads. did you have a stock cam?? did it pull like a train?? what rear end gear??

I believe it was the Ceramic Performance series, not sure but I think it was gray.

I just ordered some stainless front brake lines for it, but as cleaning up my calipers, brake the bleeder screw odd, I have tried to lightly heat it up and use and EZ out, byt no luck. Besides step drilling it out, any ideas?? I am wanting to upgrade the braking system to better pads. I had swapped out the Cobra brakes for the GT brakes so I could maybe run a skinny, but after driving it, I liked the Cobra brakes much better.

crossing my fingers!! next up is the K member and front and rear suspension. I would like tog et a new radiator with the big AN fittings for the hoses, I think that looks so clean. Also have to finish the exhaust, would like to cut the down pip into two piexes so its easier to remove lol.

well FINALLY got the car out, and was happy with the results, car kept getting faster with each pass. Ended up with a 11.51 @125.31, with a 1.9 sixty foot. Not to bad for a car with just rear strange 10 ways and lowering springs. LOL and with the help of a "suspension" guru lol
