Made this last night for a friend who was having some clutch disengagement issues. Seems to have fixed him right up.

First, I cut out a rectangle out of 1/8" steel plate, drilled a hole in it, and welded a nut to what would be the back side of it.

Then, cleaned off the area to be welded.

Used my fancy little magnets to hold things in place for a tack weld

Cut out some gussets for strength against the wrath of powershifting

http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m135/stangman_77/2013-05-15225044_zpse3063d30.jpg (http://s103.photobucket.com/user/stangman_77/media/2013-05-15225044_zpse3063d30.jpg.html)

Used my fancy little magnets again

Then this stuff happened

And done!

Installed in the car, and works flawlessly.

awesome! Ive been bored lately and started making my own shift handles, I dont have any welding experience and like working with metal, so I made a few trying to get the hang of it. The un painted one still needs ground down a bit more since I want it to look one piece

If you want them to look one peice and don't want welds showing... bevel the mating surfaces of your part that way the weld is deeper, so when you grind it down, it doesn't take the strength away from the weld joint.

I thought that's what the floor was for?

:D

I was thinking he should get some patch panels ready for the floor, if it gets shifted hard enough the pedal needs a stop, the pedal stop needs a stop :)

I done this years ago to my coupe to keep from pushing clutch any further than need to shift. I haven't broke a cable since either

Pretty cool there fella's. Slowly picking up some sheet metal welding here. Hope to be able to fix the bad spots on my trucks...all I own are rust buckets lol.

All kidding aside, you did a good job on that. Is that something that's normally sold?
I know personally I always had my clutch adjusted so that pedal barely needed to move to make the shift, then I've talked to people who liked the pedal to release the clutch inches from the floor.

Thanks Rick, and no, to my knowledge nobody makes these for a fox in the aftermarket world... only sn95's.

I seen it in mmff on project stocker years ago except they strait welded the nut to the pedal arm as did I. Urs looks good an clean. It made me more consistent on shifts an like said u wont over extend ur cable this way
