Without offending you, may I ask why you don't adopt a child from here? I just know there's 1000's of children even locally that need a good home and just don't understand why the need to adopt outside the United States?

That is an awesome idea for a fundraiser for your cause!! We have adopted domestically (3 yrs ago, an infant) and Lord willing will be adopting the end of this summer from Ukraine (15 yrs old)!! Best wishes in your process and many prayers!!!!!

I mean no offense by my above post. I'm simply just curious. I'm not saying you're right or wrong... I'm just wondering why.

No offense taken at all!! We actually expect to answer this question many times in the next year, possibly for the next several years. We have been foster parents here in Montgomery County for the past two years. We originally wanted to adopt from China, but the cost is huge and, as you said, there are so many needy children right here in the U.S. After two years and only one child placement (along with a lot of other subtle clues) we decided that God was telling us what we were meant to do. It is a gigantic leap of faith for us as we do not have money coming out our ears. I don't mean to sound all preachy or anything, but we are trying our best for follow God's plan! Thanks for asking! It gives me an opportunity to share our story! I should also add that the moment we committed to international adoption, I traded my Hemi Charger in for an econobox...now that was difficult!!

Shelby and I will be up Thursday with a few donations. We will also be looking to purchase that "jack in the box" if it will roll under Wasabi. Can't wait to see you guys and see Shelby's face when we pull in. And no you aren't getting preachy, you are witnessing. Preaching requires a soap box or pulpit, and from my chair I don't see either in your response. LOL!
I am adopted. I was born in 1973 when all the roe vs. wade things were going on. Yes theres a lot of kids needing homes here but conditions are a bit worse in china and some other areas. You cant go wrong with adoption no matter where the child comes from.
what area do you live in for the sale by the way.

Man there are some nice things up there. Dell LED screen, books, cd's, clothes everywhere, toys, some furniture, an entertainment center, snacks, around the house items, some tools, car stereo items (SIB), computer stuff, VCR with manual and remote, golf clubs (callaway hawkeye driver for $1 for example), a floor jack, and all kinds of other things.

The yard sale was a huge success! Thursday was craaaaazy!!! We still have a ton of stuff, though. I am amazed at the amount of money we have come up with in a short amount of time. God is teaching me a valuable lesson about stepping out in faith!
