hey guys dads truck blew up, he needs a motor can he use my late 70s early 80sblock with his top end fuel injection and all? hes truck is a 95

Man, good question. I would go over to the Fseries truck forums and ask. There are a couple big block guys on here too that should know.

you can use the earlier block,the difference is in the 79 and later engines the switched from an internal balance to external on the crank.
external can be easily identified with a hatchet/ crecent shaped counter weight on the sleeve right behind the dampner and a weight on the flywheel.
earlier internal balance has just a round spacer no weight and no weight on the flywheel.
you cant interchange cranks so keep that stuff straight,

thanks man! dad found a fresh 98 460 with a mid range cam tci converter head work and a c6 with a shift kit for cheap
