I have been becoming more and more obsessed with wanting a 1963 rambler station wagon. It's the first car I clearly remember riding in. 3 speed Column shift. Never could figure out how they knew if they were going to 1st or 3rd from second. Of course I was about 5. That car sat in my grandpas field for at least 20 years. I asked him for it to"turn it into a hot rod" and he told me only way I could have is if I was restoring to original. Loved the baby blue and white two tone. I wouldn't have messed with it. I just wanted an engine that wasn't as gutless as those old Amc v8s. So it sat and he "GAVE" it away to be parted out. I kick myself over and over for not saying I'd restore and got it running and drove a while till he wouldn't notice an engine swap. I'd just about give up left side body parts for one. Of course it's about all the wife would let me give since she thinks its stupid.

So what car did you grow up in that you wish you had?

Grandpa has very advanced Alzheimer's now. I wonder how he'd react if I won the lottery and pulled up in his drive in one like his. :)

My Grandpa had a 1968 Cougar, it was his last car he ever bought, when he passed away the State of Ohio took the car & his house because he did not have a will, I would have given anything to have kept it in the family.

As for one that I have owned & wished I still had, my 1965 Ford Cortina GT, I was the only kid in school with a British Car, now they are worth a " Bloody Fortune".

A sky blue, white top 1959 Chevrolet Impala convertible. 283 "Power Pack" engine, 2 speed power glide trans. So big you could land an F-14 on the hood. Loved those "cats eye" tail lights and tail fins. Sounded great with Walker Continental glass packs.

1970 1/2 Camaro RS Z28. My dad had one when he was younger and I remember listening to all the stories he told. That car is what got me into American Muscle cars at a very young age... Now I'm passing those genes onto my son, lol.

Grandpa's 66 C20. Only Chevy I ever hope to own. 327 with a powerglide. He paid cash for it and we still have all the papers. I'd rather not see it go to my stepbrother.

My dad's '65 Ford Fairlane 500 Sports Coupe, 289 Hi-po, 4 speed. Still has it.

Also, my first car, which is need of a lot of love, but its my '77 Mustang II. Has like 65k miles and bought brand new by my grandma and grandpa, my dads parents. I still have this car

First car I had a car payment on, my '94 GT. Still have it as well

First car I bought with my own money, my '89 GT, R.I.P....

Cars I wish my parents kept..... Dad's '69 AMC AMX, black w/ gold stripes w/ the 390 and a 4spd, side pipes, etc.

Then my mom's '66 Mustang, 351w, big and little aluminum slots, side pipes...

Those 2 cars rotted out

My 62 Fairlane, tt was my first V8 swap and I put a motor and transmission out of a 71 mustang. It got a fresh paint job a set of turbo mufflers and some Craigers and I was set! Car ran good for a 16 year old kid but If I knew then what I know now, it would have been a sweet ride.

Oddly enough my dads 94 F350, crew cab, long bed, dually with the 7.3 and manual trans... Idk why but I extremely miss the truck, only had 50k on it when he sold it in 09. I remember going on all sorts of trips in it and all the swap meets. If I ever find the truck, id seriously try to buy it back. It was black with aluminum running boards to the rear fenders, and aluminum rails along the bed. Nothing special but super clean, always garage kept. Also had the goose neck hitch

My dad is a car guy, the first car I can remember was a 66 Galaxie 500 390/4 speed car. Great car for a guy with 5 boys. next was his 73 mach 1 351cj/c6 the car I took my driving test in. Than came a 89 lx 5.0/auto finally his retirememt gift to himself a superformance cobra 351/5 speed . Great dad to grow up with . Maybe that's why my 04 cobra is the 10th mustang I have owned

I t sounds weird but I want my 79 Capri back. Would be a perfect project for my 10 year olds first car. It wasn't overly nice by any means but it was cool as hell in my book

My dad had a 1965 Corvette convertible (327/350hp, 4spd) and a 1968 GTO (400, 4spd) that are directly responsible for my car obsession. Lot of great memories of blasting around the backroads of the Cocoa Beach area of Florida in both those cars. :bigthumb

Too many over the years. First car I ever drove, 37 chev coupe. Dads 59 vette, 64 Fairlane with a later 289 hypo. Or Mabbe the 67 Chevy van with a 327 out of a 60s vette.

I had a 1980 Capri. 4 cyl, 4 speed with TRX suspension. This car made a Ford man out of me. Brought me over from the dark side.
