Alright fellas. The time has come again...to sell my stang. My uncle in law lol has a 1981 olds 442 for sale, 88, 000 miles, b.e.s. built 455 punched out to a 469 I think. Makes somewhere in the 700 at the wheels. Built 700r4 and grand national rear end. Hooker gbody bb swap headers with full 3" duals. Hurst quarter stick shifter. Made an 11.80 pass on street tires. He's asking 6500, no rust or dents.

Sell my 95 gt with gt40 heads, trick flow intake, e cam and its an auto but cean and strong running. I'd ask 4000 for it. I realized it will never be worth anything unless I sink a bunch of money into a motor and suspension.

Most importantly I don't want something I'm going to have to work on all the time seeibf as I'm a mechanic by job and hobby so on my weekends off I don't want to be in the garage I'd rather be out driving.

What do you all think?

X-nay on the Oldsmobile ace-car-ray. that's what it sounds like to me...more tinkering tweeking headaches. Nice if a race car is what you want...bad if a weekend driver is what you are after. Def not a "Keep tars on it, put gas in it and it'll go" type vehicle.

What happened to the turbo on the mustang? I bet once you get that all buttoned up you won't want to get rid of it.

I grew up in a GM house. After owning a 72 Chevelle SS and a Firebird Formula Pro Am, I made the switch to Mustangs. Had 3 foxes. Decided I wanted a Camaro so I did t have to work on it as much (so my dad said). I was constantly messing with it trying to get it to run right. Motor ended up blowing up after the oil pump went bad on the highway and I sold an 8k car for 2. It officially ended my time with performance GM cars. IMO the Mustangs are about as bulletproof as you can get. I WILL say you can find sbc parts cheap. Hell over at my friends house we found an old 350 block buried in the ground...

Sorry, didn't read that it was an 80's car. I saw 442 and a.d.d. Kicked right in and I saw the old body beauty. The 80's were ugly and cheap. No way I'd buy that. And if it's a racecar street car. More race, get ready to turm more wrenches than ever.

yeah that would be the same kit what he forgot to mention was the fact that he begged me to sell him the kit. he knew exactly what he was fucking getting he looked over all the shit when it was bolted on the car then helped me take it off I never had the kit for sale I had the car for sale. and he kept asking me to sell him the kit so if someone OFFERS to buy something at a good price im going to take it. not my problem if he fucks him self. and after he talked to zimmer about modifying it I offered to buy it back and he said no its ok im going to use it. then two days ago he wants me to buy it back sorry I offered once and you denied.

THANKS MAN I offered to buy it back the kit was on a fox and he is putting it on a 95sn car and as far as the injectors I will step up and do something about thos because I was told they where 30# when I bought the car so I didn't kno but you saw and knew about everything else

Zimmer hadn't seen it yet until I got the car up to him. And after he daw it he said wow. Ask for your money back this shit belongs on a honda. I guess when you actually work for your money it means more then when it falls into your lap. Lesson learned. And sn95na the turbo from plated looks brand new and is fine. The t76 turbonetics from the 80's is junk. Centerhousing and turbine and compressor blades are garbage from being grouground down on the housing

yeah and you knew that and I work harder for my money than you ever will and zimmer saw it before you took it out there because it was on the car when he did all the pipeing on the car so good try and next time don't offer people money for something they where not trying to sell then bitch about everything you got when you knew exactly what you where getting

Are you done complaining? I was over this yesterday. anywho, what would be better? Keep sinking money into a car that's only worth a mac of 5k with mods or get a car thats already done and done right.

I'm kinda partial to Mustangs soooo...... My car might only be worth a max of 8k (simply because of the paint) but I'm keeping it. Just more fun to drive and a better sound IMO. The longer I have this SN the more I'm falling in love with it. My Camaro was an 83 that was completely built and it just seems like 80's GM cars have no soul.

Are you looking for something that you will carry a note on and then use your cash budget for a down payment and some upgrades? If so there are quite a few S197 body Mustang GT's out there at a very reasonable price and low miles. 4K can get you a vortech package that you can easily install in a weekend which will get you 400RWHP or so. A nice little sleeper car. There's the 2000 year Camaros as well. Nice engine, a few mods and bang. Another great running car that excepts mods well and does not seem to require a bunch of tinkering is the 03/04 Cobra Terminator. A pulley/CAI/exhaust/tune and you are putting down 460 RWHP on a car that is very reliable. Plenty of options out there on cars that will fill the bill for you. They won't make 700 HP, but then again what car does and needs little TLC aside from a 2013 GT500 or Z05 which is out of most people's range? And of course there is always the E-85 route that gets you even more as long as you can find gas stations.

You might contact Beefcake or Sean and see what they could hunt up for you. These guys deal in cars and know where to find the gems. With them you have the entire Big 3 covered. Good luck man. Hope to see you out and about.

I already have a car payment which is my 03 wrx that just turned 100k. Stsge 3 @ 300 horse. Plenty for me. I want a sunday driver that's fast when I lay into it. I had a fox and wasn't pleased with it aesthetically and functionally. Couldnt get used to the cable clutch and the mushy handling. I was a big bad "muscle csr" per say. Which to me the g body cars is pretty much the last carbd muscle base car...to me anyway. Did any of that make sense?

Here is what made sense was u had a underpowered fox with crappy suspension that needed a paint job and some wheels so now u don't like them. U would rather own a battle ship with a big anchor under the hood that makes a mythical 700hp unless it has a power adder.
Ur 95 should make plenty of power with a turbo and handle better than a fox or that olds and it would be reliable on a good tune.
