I have a PA C4 with a reverse pattern shift, what I was wanting to know does anyone make an external trans brake that i can run, without having to replace my whole valve body?? Are they hard to install?? Or would I be better off selling my valve body and buying one with a brake already in it?? Opinions wanted, also please est the price you think it would cost?? I looked at one off of Summit, but didnt show a picture by JW?

$450+ u can't mod it yourself u have buy one done. 9 bolts to remove torque 10# put pan back on pull modulator an valve put new valve an solenoid in place hook to 12v switched source an hang on

you need to replace the valvebody.its easy to do.
stay away from the p/a with the external solenoid, looks like a nitrous solenoid mounted on top, they are slow releasing.
tranzking makes a protree brake, lupo, broader, dynamic etc are all good too.
i dont have any experience with the jw.
you replace the valvebody, then take out the modulator and modulator valve.then install the new valve into the modulator hole with the spring side facing in then put on the solenoid and wire it up.
they usually come with a girdle or reinforced reverse cover which you must use.
some have you pull the 2nd gear servo and block the passage some dont.
you also need to know if your trans has a screw modulator or push in ,some companies make one or the other.
impact use is optional lmao!

So either way I am looking at a new valve body?? I am just tired of leaking out of the hole with just a foot brake and crappy 60' times. The car went a 1.9 and trapped at 132. I am going to have the tranmission gone thru, just wanted to do the trans brake while i was in there. I heard the dynamics have the best reviews, but each to their own I guess?? I have read thats its a bear to seal the wires coming out of the pan??

the solenoid is external it goes where the modulator would be..so no holes to leak.

Do you come across any used ones to speak of, or is it one of those parts that I am better buying new?? I dont know for over 450, I just might sell the trans and starting over, becuase I also want to have my converter restalled. Just trying to sort out all my options and see which one is best fit for me.

If your transmission works fine, sell your manual valve body and buy a trans brake valve body. You also need to make sure your converter is set up to run with a trans brake or buy one that is.

just doesnt seem like i could get much out of my valve body?? Trans works great, just seems like its lacking a lot, or a lot left int he car. Stall is 5k, came from a nitrous car. I can foot brake it to 32-3500

every once in awhile I come across one, nothing lately.
100-150 for a manual vlv body used.
your about a .5 off in the 60 with that much power.
a brake would let you build boost on the line and get more stall out of what you have.

I think the car could almost be in the 9's with the current set up. What is your opion on the stall?

with a brake youll get more stall from it, id use the stall you have if it doesnt work well for you atleast youd have a baseline setup to go from.
that mph should go bottom 10's hi 9's
