OFCC is Having a Senate Advocacy Day and Needs Volunteers
Postby Chuck » Wed Feb 05, 2014 2:11 pm

On Thursday, Feb 27 2014 OFCC is having an Advocacy Day in the Ohio Senate when we will visit every senator's office and ask them to support / help push HB 203 through committee and onto the Senate floor quickly.
It was referred to the Senate's Civil Justice Committee only yesterday, thanks to your phone calls and emails, and we want the committee hearings to begin so we can keep this important bill moving

Yes, it has some technical issues with firearm disability and restoration of rights, but we have been working on that and the bill's author has agreed to drop that part, and address it in a later bill, at a later time
That is one of the issues we need this Senate committee to address, amending the bill.
We need this bill to pass before the Legislature breaks for the summer, because this is an election year and nothing will happen from the break until after the election, (except campaigning) :)

OFCC will have four teams visiting all the Senators on our Advocacy Day and we would like to have as many concerned citizens join us as possible
There is strength in numbers, and we would really like to have a half dozen people or more in each team
Morne, Mr. Magoo, Navy Chief, and myself are each leading a team and will do most of the talking, so don't let shyness be an obstacle.

If you want to take part in this, please respond either here or by PM to the team leader of your choice

Thanks!!
