96 Windsor

I have a 96 Mustang gt convertible. And from my research it sounds like I should have a romeo block. But also from my research if I go by the vin# I have a Windsor block. Without actually reaching on the block itself to find a W embossed on it. Just curious if anyone else has come across this. I find it interesting for sure to have such 2 different possibilities. Like why would it be a Windsor when the Windsor plant didn't go online with the 4.6 till 97. And I've seen interior panels on it that are 95. Makes wonder how much has been replaced.

11 for romeo and 13 for Windsor right?

Well finally got a few minutes to count. And it's 11. That makes the most sense to me. But the Vin number stuff I've read doesn't match. Doesn't matter I do believe I will be ordering a new romeo block and pi heads and intake come Feb 2015
