Remington 700 in .308. The stock has aluminum pillars and has been glass bedded. Topped with a Leopold Mark AR scope on quick release base.

Got it from my unemployed brother. I plan to shoot it this weekend then not sure what I'm going to do with it.

Nice! I've always liked the Rem 700 line

keeping calm and chiving on!

Very nice. Check out IQmetals.com, they have good ammo at a decent price. Federal Gold metal match with the 168 grain Sierra Matchking will shoot very good out of it too.

Here is what my brother told me about the ammo he set it up to use. ". At 100 meters it will group at .5 with M118LR 175 gr 7.62 ammo or Federal Gold Medal Premium Match 168gr ammo"

Sounds like you are on the same page. This is my first gun that I have been able to shoot farther than 200 yards, so I really expect the gun to exceed my talent as a trigger man.

That is an excellent tool for you to sharpen your skills with. My advice would be to install a 1lb Jewell trigger, that will tighten your groups, and make shooting more fun. A muzzle brake will really soften the recoil, which reduces flinch, which tightens your group. A few of us shoot long range at Thunder Valley Precision, near Coshocton, OH. That place will teach and test your skill. The 168 SMK work great at 800 yards and under, but at 1000 yards or so they have trouble, they don't go from supersonic to subsonic very well. So if you plan on shooting farther than that, the 175 smk's or 155 Lapua Scenar's would be a better choice.
