Just got my stang back running this weekend after installing a vortech v1 s-trim with a cx racing front mount kit. Right one the car runs and drives but is not building boost. My gauge reads vacuum ANC when you get on it it will go to 0 but stops there. We found no leaks, and the bov does release some air during hard driving. Anyone have any ideas why it's not building boost?

I assume the BOV has the same purpose as a bypass valve on a TVS system. If so it is vacuum operated. On the TVS system the bypass valve is held in bypass via vacuum. At throttle up vacuum diminishes and bypass vlave closed directing boost through the SC to the intake runners. Throttle down, vacuum is back. Bypass valve goes into bypass and vents ALL boost pressure remaining. On my 05 I had this problem abdout a year after going boosted. The linkage on the valve was sticking, so at Throttle up though the vacuum was gone the bypass valve stuck in bypass. I made a simple adjustment on the valve linkage and the problem was resolved. You may be having a similar issue or possibly a defective bypass valve.

If the BOV is changing state, then you may wish to find some way to diconnect teh BOV and plug off the hose on the boost side. Then see if yo unow have boost. If so you havea bad BOV OR the BOV is sticking in bypass. I assume it is vacuum operated. Good luck.

I've had a CX racing intercooler that was plugged and not allowing the car to make boost.

How did you find out it was plugged?

Bypassed it and it made boost

Out of curiosity, did it run/idle ok out of boost Kelly?

Have you put shop air to the BOV line to verify it closes all the way under pressure?

Yes it ran perfect but would never build boost even though you could hear the turbo screaming.

No we haven't, my brother has used shop air to make sure the boost gauge work and it does.

On the plugged intercooler, how did you fix that?

Although it's a possibility the I/C is bad, I wouldn't assume that's the issue. My guess is there's a BOV issue or a leak you haven't found yet.

Out of the 10-15 intercoolers Jason used from CX racing at least 2 were clogged

I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just saying Id exhaust all the possibilities before I cut the end tanks off or bought another. That is a pretty crappy failure rate though.

Yea Rick it was a terrible failure rate. I almost wonder if the didnt get a bad run of them since everyone has good luck with them. I would just slap a piece of pipe in its place and see if.it makes boost. Have you ever ran this kit non intercooled?

No, haven't run it non-intercooled, but after today, we know the bov is kinda junky. Our next step is probably to run it non-ic and see what happens.
