Our new toy

We picked this up from the Military for free. We just had to have it shipped from New Jersey. That cost about $3k. Its a neat piece of equipment. And its fat kid approved. That means I can fit in it. I havent got a chance to drive it yet. Ive been extremely busy. But as soon as I get the chance Im going to take it for a spin. I dont know what we will use it for but it seems fun. Enjoy. Thats my friend John Glenn throwing up the metal horns. Lol.

I think its a 96 and it has like 800 miles on it. We're supposed to get another one for parts.

Does anyone know what it is?

Its for work. The Newport Police Dept got it through some government surplus program. They got 3 Hummers too. Theyre in the process of painting the Hummers like their cop cars. One is done and one more is almost done. And one to go. I'll try to get more pics. The camera on my phone is junk so I have to have someone take pics and send them to me.

This thing has a bunch of attachments that is runs. The one on the back is a backhoe. The other that we're getting had a crane on it. We're going to use that one for putting up the flood walls. If we can get it fixed.

Unimogs are cool. I always thought it would be a great trail machine without the attachments. I believe they are made by Mercedes. They have extra high ground clearance because the hubs have offset gearing so the axle sits higher than the wheel centerline.
