I was apart of you guys several years back and met a lot of great people at the meets and track days but due to a divorce and life getting turned upside down I sold everything and reset life. After several years of being stang-less last Saturday I drove 5 hours to Duffield Va to pick up this 82 GT t-top 5 speed car. Its a great rust free start for me but needs some cosmetic love..

3bar GT40 motor (working A/C )
87 t-5
87 8.8 3:27 gears

Drove it all the way back home without the slightest issue. The car runs great but needs full interior redone but that will come over the winter.. I thought I would share and iam glad to be back

Don't lie Chris .. you know that pic made you want to run out and buy you some 14in rims :D
My girlfriend is sick of hearing me complain about how much I hate the wheels so I at least have a set of ponys for the car but holding off on buying tires since I just got a deal on a 5 lug disc brake swap.. The car spent got a little track time so the previous owner put on the go kart drag radials to make up for the 3:27 gear. 14:01@101

Glad you.re back and got things going in a good direction in your life. That car looks awesome. I remember when they came out in 82. A friend of mine bought one in Maroon some years back from a guy in Cleveland. Factory sunroof car. Has to be one of the best mustang GT grills of the fox body era IMO. 85 is a close second.

Sounds like the car has had some nice mods with the 5 speed addition, and the custom dual exhaust. One minor thing I did not like on the 82,83's was the dual exhaust pipes coming out the same side. The custom two tone giving it that later 80's GT appearance is nice as well. Whoever did the car did a great job with the subtle changes.

That is a cool little car. It would look real slick with that front air dam on the ground and a set of silver fr500s tucked in the wheel wells

I just started fixing all the little things that wasn't quite right lol.... but overall a soild platform and a blast to cruise. If I got with my 16in pony wheels or 17in Rs.... what lowering spring would you guys suggest.

1.5" drop IMO based on a 26-27" tire height. Enough to clean it up but not make it looked pimped out. 17's for sure. R series would look great as IMO would Saleen five spoke knock off's.

Centerlines run odd on backspacing ... No way around it other than different wheels ...
Looks Good IMO !!!

well its been awhile since I have posted so I figured id drop an little update. I recently moved into a different place with a lot bigger garage. which means not as much spare change for the 82 but iam slowly getting things ready for test n tune and summer cruising. I been chasing some electrical gremlins that I most straightened out. I have visually most everything looking pretty good minus tackling the trashed interior. I am hoping to make the cruise in this coming month.. ill post a few pic updates from my phone

I am still in need of a lot of parts to make it better but its out and driving without any major headaches. I will enjoy the cruise a lot better once I get my suspension all ironed out with the new gears.

Traded them for the welds, kb116 pistons and a pro 5.0 shifter...so after trading n selling I have nothing in the welds ..interior is still trash at this point but just picked some SEM interior paint so the next few warm days that stuff is next on the list..
