I know others have it worse than I do and I am thankful for everything that I have in life. Good job, healthy family, loving wife, and a few toys... But my luck has almost got the best of me lately!

Starting a couple weeks back, I was at work when the wife called and said there was a leak in the basement. I rushed home, found the main house drain line leaking from someone hacking it together at some time. They drilled a 1.5 inch hole in the 3 inch pipe and glued a piece of PVC into it. It had broke loose and started leaking. I cut out the hacked up shit, pieced in a Tee, and ran a few new lines. Leak fixed, I go on with my day!

Last night after I ate and got stuffed, I laid down in bed. Out of the blue, I hear the toilet gurgling... Kids started screaming in the basement that there was water leaking. I jump up, throw clothes on, and run downstairs. Water was leaking from the floor area in my bathroom. I ran back up stairs and checked my bathroom and the toilet was running over. Not only that, the toilet in the 2nd bath was running over also.

I started pulling caps off and draining the nasty ass shit and waste water out to start snaking to see what was clogged. Couldn't find nothing... In the very back way in the finished side of my basement was the last cap to pull before it heads out to the septic tank. This is where it gets interesting!!

I slowly pulled the cap as Im confined behind the 1 foot area behind finished wall and the block basement wall. Letting the water drain out into buckets, I think I am getting closer to the leak!!

Then all of a sudden, the cap blows off, shooting shit, TP, laundry water and whatever else is in there all over me! Ive had enough!! I haven't ever felt so nasty! And I couldn't get out there fast enough! I had that shit everywhere! My boys was laughing, I was ready to kill them, and now I have a bigger mess!

Now in the mean time, I am also out at the diversion box trying to snake backwards to see whats going on. I haven't ever had a septic system as I have always lived in town for the most part. No luck last night... I tell everyone don't use the toilet, Ill fix it in the morning.

Today I wake up and browse Youtube to see what I can figure out. Everything leads to having the tank pumped out. I called the local guy and he said dig up the lids and he'll be right over. Did all that and he came over... When he pulled the lids off, I was amazed at the amount of crap stuffed in there! It was horrible! He sucked it out and put the lids on and gave me a bill for $240!

Tomorrow Ill wake up and head back out to fill in the holes again. I finished up the night with a nice hot shower and Im heading back to bed! Tomorrow will bring new challenges and Im sure Ill over come but in the mean time, Im still thankful!!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Be thankful for what you do have (or don't have) and enjoy your time here will you can. It could always be worse!

Damn man LOL. Had a plumber come out 2 yrs ago to clean out the main line as it was draining slow. He opened up the cleanout behind the house, reached in there with his bare hand and pulled out something. I looked down and in his hand was a tampon. He said "pipe mouse", threw it a few feet and proceeded. LOL. Different breed man, no doubt.

Oh yeah they are a whole different breed of people! This guy was very knowledgable about his shit!! I bet he could even tell you the different brands of toilet paper in there by the texture!

That's nasty man, if you don't already do it, start adding Rid-X to your system monthly, it does wonders for the system.

I'm new to the whole septic tank thing myself. We hadn't moved in to the house yet but I came over to do some work. There was an alarm going off in the basement. Turns the alarm was a breaker for the septic tank aerator. Called the company that installed it and they said to pull the aerator out to check to see if there is anything wrapped around the shaft. It wasn't nearly as disgusting as I had figured but there also nothing around the shaft. $900 later I ended up with a new aerator motor.

I don't feel so bad now money wise! We had an Aerator growing up where I lived and I never recall it being to bad.

I feel ya!! I've had my share of work too. I just had 3 rooms carpeted and me and the wife did 900 sq ft of laminate. It's been a rough year!

I told my wife that life would be easier house wise if we would just buy 5 acres, build a 2.5 car garage with 200amp service on it and live in a single-wide next to the garage.

SHE DIDN'T AGREE! LOL!

You might be able to get away with it if you go with a double wide, they have fancier options...

Haha that's what we have now! And with a full basement that is half finished and the other half is a 2 car garage! Atleast I have easy access to most of my plumbing thank god!!
