So.. i have came to the conclusion our society id falling apart. So many people are ill informed on some stuff and everything that is seen or heard on tv is true. I know it has been this way a while but its getting worse.

The first thing that seems to have bothered me as of late is this whole LEOs are bad and should all be punished trend. I am not going to say all leos are perfect. But most do there job and are at work jusy like all of us. I see it on the news everyday about cops did this, or said that. People rioting and protesting them doing there job. Usually people who do not understamd what they do or think all they are out for is money. I work as a firefighter and a emt. I am out with the public daily. I work alongside law enforcement. They are all just normal people doing a job.. like i said there are some bad seeds or bad decisions. But it happens. Thays human nature. I guess im just tired of seeing so many people who know not of what they speak complaining non stop about it.

I dont think its just me that feels this way. What do you guys think?

It's the mentality of, it's all about me, me, me, me and what I can get out of it...
In many cases, maybe not all but many.

I have to agree with ya. No one cares but of themselves anymore. And want everything handed to them for free.

The riots you see are nothing more than criminals guising what they do normally, which is steal and destroy for the sake of doing it. Rebelling against the very authority that keeps you from doing what you want to do whether it hurts others or breaks the law is all that is going on there. It's stupidity at it's finest. They've proven the very premise these riots and protests were about were based on a lie, the guy did NOT have his hands in the air, he was reaching for a gun and fumbled it instead of pointing and shooting. The weapon was loaded and cocked, no safety on. It would have been that cops last experience. The guy got what he deserved. You want fair treatment and respect, carrying a loaded weapon illegally is not the way, get an education or at minimum a job and you'll EARN it, just like everyone else. /rant /off soapbox.

The country is getting dumber. There seems to no common sense anymore. Nor is there any work ethic. Like said before every just blieves what they hear in the news. Not many people think on there own.

I see this everyday as I sit on FB and read some of the stupid comments! I wonder how these people have made it this far in life. I mean with the police/riots, Hillary for president, ACA, and so on. People need to read up and learn!

Most of them have no job or anything else to do but riot....while we work and pay taxes so they can collect a check from the government.

Hi
First going back to the LEO issue... my uncle was ny state police... Leos are taught to take control of situations for their safety.
Some people don't like that so they get in trouble... That being said Leos are people... some do a good job and some don't.

I have said 2 things for a while.. well I added a 3rd "rant on"

1) There are just too many people..... if you figure that crazy people are a percentage of the population then it follows that the more people the more crazies.. (you can take that to mean drivers, killers or whatever)

2) The other thing is ... I am going to get in trouble now... Families are raised with 2 people working, or divorced/split, hard to do... My feeling is that they don't want to discipline the children, only see them for a few hours at night. i realize this is pretty general and some do raise respectful children but ... see item 1 more people the more children without respect. This seems to hold especially true in the slums/welfare.

3) Thirdly the fact that society is becoming too politically correct, wrong is just wrong.. black is black not gray.
You can take this thought a lot of ways... the courts... people on death row for 15-20 years... stupid... People with multiple dui's, drug charges, breaking and entering etc. Anyone can make a mistake, but things are crazy.

Now I am really in trouble but that is the way I see it!!
Then what do I know I am old and cranky.

Ditto!!!

So often WE ALL (self included) give glory to the Fire Dept for their heroic efforts. It's easy to do when their primary task is to protect, rescue, and preserve human life. But when it comes to the police department we tend to be hypocrites (ALL OF US) and we fail to see the great lengths cops go to to provide us the stability we often times take for granted. They are tasked to uphold the law, protect, and to serve. If these men and women walked off the job there would be anarchy in the streets just like in the fictional movie ROBO cop.

There is no doubt that temptation lurks in the line of duty for one to not remain loyal to enforcing the law fairly. But that is often a fraction of the percentage (IMO) of those trying to uphold the law.

After the assassination of the two patrolmen on duty in New York late last year, and with the on going lack of support up there coming from the Mayor's office, I am amazed that Police merely turned their backs in protest to Mayor De-Bone-Head. It's a wonder FOP union officials did not stage a walk out or Blue Day in the face of the hatred generated toward them from their Mayor. It may yet have to come to that before police officials get the respect they deserve.

We all bitch and gripe when we get pulled over for speeding, rolling through red lights, etc. And that can makes it sometimes hard for us to express admiration for these men and women who truly want to serve their community, many of which who have served their country proudly prior to entering police work. I am trying to be more supportive of police efforts even when I find myself lit up (much more rare these days as I get older due to wising up some...not a lot LOL! ). Cops like firefighters need to be shown appreciation as well. Think again what it would be like if they were no longer present in your neighborhood...especially those of us who live in town.

Amen guys. I know we are always praised while the cops grt the hate. Like if a house burns to ground and we do not save it. We get thanks you tried i am glad you were here. Cops try and fail and they get all kinds of hate.

I have the utmost Respect for Law Enforcement ... But it's situations like this that any Law Enforcement Agency should keep a close eye on ... AKA Policing your Own ... There were Clear indications that these Officers were not only a Menace to themselves and the Public ...
Again this is in NO WAY me trying to bash Law Enforcement ... Just giving an example as to why some feel the way they do ...

And as far as Firemen ... I realize they risk their Lives also, But in 46 years I have yet to meet one that wasn't Completely Full of Themself and pretty much Arrogant A$$Holes ... But that's my opinion of the Hundreds I've met through the years ...
Flame Away !!!.

Actually i agree with you about the country in general going to hell... I would like to say it's Obama's fault :) ( I am republican maybe even a libertarian ) but the truth..... it's all the politicians in general. Not sure there's one worth his salt, there all looking for the dollar. It takes millions of dollars to be elected and they owe a lot of favors by the time they get in... Then comes the political correctness, don't want to hurt anyones feelings...
I think minorities are running the country.. as they say the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

I have a problem with the society we have created where people think we owe them a living... you have to work for what you get. Don't take me wrong there will always be people that need help and i believe in helping them, but we should try and lift people up so they can stand on their own.

I also believe all people are created equal and should be treated as such....
Well this must be my month for soap boxes.. :)

I agree if it is someone truly needing help it is fine to help. But i would be 80% of the people who get help are just lazy. I mean i am diabetic. But i didny say welp i can nnt function like normal i need help. I make the best of it and live my life. And Pops your right with the politician crap. They are all crooked. They all need out and we need to start new with people who are not professional politicians.
