Well after a couple years without a Mustang, I decided it was time for another. I had been so heavily into the car shows with the SSP's I just got burned out. I even skipped out on all the 50th Anniversary activities. Anyhow, after a rough past 16 months and finally retiring I decided to get back into a Stang. A buddy of mine in the State of Washington had mentioned in passing he was selling his father's 1990 GT convertible. It is an all original car with no rust, and only issue being some crappy paint touch-ups that are required when you drive in your 80's.

So anyhow here are a couple pictures. I hope to make the spring cruise pending my kids baseball/softball game schedule. I am not creating a build thread yet because I am not sure what if anything I am going to do. The only thing for sure will be some 4.10 gears to replace those crappy 2.73, a full exhaust upgrade, and a manual shift valve body...yes yes...it is an AOD car. Figured with it being a convertible it would be more of a cruiser than a racer...although I have thought about adding a small S/C down the road.

Wow! Looks like a pretty nice car! The older I get, the more I like the Automatics though!

Thanks...I am kinda the same way with the transmission. I like shifting gears, but is also nice just to be able to drive. I figure if I put the manual VB in, it will take care of the shifting urge every once in a while. I had a similar set up in my old '92 LX...although it had some motor mods. It was fine for me and I still had it in the low 13's which was my goal.

Nice looking vert Matt. For a cruiser, go with a nice auto shift valve body. Silverfox from clickclickracing.com builds an awesome custom vb. Text me where you moved to.

Nice looking car matt. I did the same thing, my convertible is an auto, but it allows for anyone to drive it, been in parades, homecoming events etc. Nice to put the top down and just drive on nice days. Still have the 86 a 5 speed so I have the best of both worlds in my opinion. Beautiful car matt!

Thanks! Drove it this morning for a few a errands. Nice to be back in a fox body that I can drive on a daily basis if I want.

Looks good, I wouldn't mind having a fox driver again someday.

That is very cool. Looks to be well maintained. It would look very classy with some springs and a set of 17" bullitt wheels to match the ground effects.

Thanks...I will probably do some Ford Racing springs and Koni Orange shocks/struts. For some reason I actually like the turbines in my older years...Lord knows I hated them back in the day. The grey bottom needs repainted as the prior owner had the front and back done, but not the middle section. To top it off he had Maaco do it so you can imagine the quality issues it has. I am thinking when I go to repaint it I will either do the original silver/titanium color or the dark shadow grey that came on the New Edge cars.
