Messing around in the engine bay today looking for a vacuum leak and I noticed this.. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/23/0c1bc8fa9ad1cde8eda54168e052210e.jpg
Two pulleys on the crank? Seems a little odd. I know this car was a track car for a while but I thought it just had nitrous and a drag suspension.

That's a good sign that it was. Usually they sell the pulleys with the blower though when they pull them off.

Piggy back under drive pulleys?
What are the advantages of that?

I'm more concerned about the weight, if it's too heavy or light if it will affect anything.

Ok I just looked them up. Apparently they're junk. Lol. Looks like I'm taking it off and replacing it with a better unit.
Thanks guys.

I have a OEM crank pulley off my old engine. Looks like new. I'd take $20 for it and could bring it to the cruise on Sunday.

From the way it sounds this is just a stock pulley with an underdrive pulley behind it to retain the balancer. When I change it I'm either going to swap every pulley out for stick or probably just buy a better underdrive setup.

Ahh ok. I'd stick with stock pulleys.

Yes. correct. Same setup on my Mark Viii.

Wish I could make the cruise. I want those strange struts.

Well, actually I may be able to make it. I'm helping my sister move tonight and tomorrow instead of tomorrow and sunday. We'll see how lethargic I am come sunday after moving a buncha shit lol.

Cool. I'll bring them just in case. I'll even throw in some prothane bumpstops and bushings to sweeten the deal lol.

Cool. Works for me. I'll be in a black ford ranger 4x4 with a green cap.

piggyback pulleys are okay for engines that see RPMS no higher than 7000.

With the current rune on my car I'm afraid to go above 5k lol. Either way I'm still just going to put stock pulleys back on it. You'd think they'd be easier to find with so many people swaping to underdrives.
