Guys I have been without a Mustang for over a year and I have missed it. I am working on a strict budget. I am thinking a sn95 or New Edge as they seem to be the best bang for the buck. Want to find a clean 96-04 manual car, I contemplated an auto and going FI but, I need to be realistic. It will be a street car that I will race on the weekends. Would like to run UMTR and Charlies series. I want a Coyote motor, will be just bolt ons. Now not real knowledgeable about those models and have questions.

Transmission- will a t45 or 3650 built be able to survive 450 rwhp? Will the gearing be a decent match with the Coyote powerband and 7k shifts? I know a t56 would probably be better but again if I can save a thousand here, that would get my suspension section covered. Would like to steer away from a TKO as they are too notchy for a street car imo.

Gears what would you recommend with the t45 or 3650. I anticipate bottom 11s to mid 10s with traps in low 120s.

Suspension I want to keep poly ends it will be a street car most of the time. Any suggestions on shocks, struts, springs (would like to lower it a little bit), control arms etc.

In the late winter or early spring I want find a clean roller or running car that I can enjoy while I get all the parts lined up.

Again the prices are reasonable where as finding a clean Fox without a super proud price on it is getting difficult. Plus most expect that model car that looks close to stock will be a 14 second car.

I Sent you an invite to a FB group. Its a really good group, although Fox body swap specific, there is alot of knowledgeable people and much of that information can be used from Foxes and applied to the SN and New edge cars. You will be light years ahead getting a donor car already with hydro boost. That will save work assuming you were going to stick with power brakes and steering. Also are you planning for AC? Power by the hour and Vintage Air both make bracket kits for front accessories however those the the more expensive options.

I really want to find a radiator and AC condenser from an 11-14 car and use on my car which should be somewhat economical versus buying aftermarket.

That would be fine although it's not much to look at. I haven't made much progress on it lately.

Brian had a nice low mileage yellow sn95 for sale here... not sure if he still has the car... but its being parted out to the point where it's a prime candidate for a coyote swap.

The 94 Brian has is a very nice car. The interior looks like it is brand new. It will be a great car for someone.

I still have it taking up space in my driveway!! Waiting on Jason to get a day off to check it out. Ive had a lot of interest in it.

Hey dale, Good to see you back.

The 3650 is a decent tranny. Its no T56 Magnum, but it held 473 RWHP on my 05 mustang. Keep in mind an 8.8 on a 1999-2004 edge will have 28 spline vice 31 as in 2005+ mustangs. From my research the 3650 is a little shorter geared than the T56 which offers a 2.66 and a 2.97 gearing setup (reference first gear to K.I.S.) The MT-82 manual shipped on all 11+ cars has a 3.66 gear. I believe the 3650 five speed runs somewhere around 3.06 1st and so on. Many guys swap to T56 magnums on their coyotes as you well know due to the history of the MT82 and of course the T56 is designed to handle 700T.

One last thing. The 3650 is a 10 spline input shaft tranny. The T56 magnum is a 26 spline. T56 trannys in the 03/04 svt cobras were 10 spline. There are plenty of options to swap the 10 spline in a 3650 to a 26 spline. Also don't forget about the TR6060 option which is also a 26 spline and not a bad choice if you can find one.

Hope this helps you out some. You may wish to speak in detail with our buds at Finish line Performance on the comparisons as well. THey have been doing some work with edge and SN95's with Coyote swaps in them and can give you some first hand actual feedback.

T56 magnum is the best choice. 2.66 first gear with a 4.10 gear or higher would get it moving. I am not a fan of t45 or 3650 trans.

No less than 4.10's on a 2valve with a tremec 3650. I ran 4.10's on my 2002 and it was great street and strip. 4.56 is not bad choice either. T56 would be the dream tranny but you did say you were on a strict budget. Hope to see you in something very soon Dale...say come Spring?
