As my 05 3.5 Altima has treated me well (223k and climbing) I'm starting to look at a new DD. I've always thought a Fox would be a sweet daily but not sure how I'd feel in the snow as my 94 is a death trap. I've narrowed it down to these three options: fox with a GT40 setup, a Lexus GS400 (Jap V8) or a Mini Clubman JCW (absolutely love my buddies). Whats your guy's thoughts?

Winters aren't to bad here but Ive drove a fox and new edge in the snow and I hate it! Plus the salt just destroys them. I have a Cherokee and F250 that I drive on the shitty days.

05 Mustang Gt with Blizzaks on it for winter was a great daily for me. Drove 28 miles each way to and from work. The new traction control helps in that scenario. 5" unplowed snow on cross county and it went. Its all about how you drive it.

Fox Mustangs SUCK in the rain, Let alone the Snow ...
I'd suggest about anything over a Fox ...

No on a FB for the winter...they suck and will be worse than your 94. My '03 GT did okay with the traction control Could not go very fast or up big hills, but it do okay everywhere else.

Although I just sold mine a Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee are great winter DD and can be bought fairly cheap. Plus parts are all over the place and cheap if you need to fix anything.

I used to daily a fox for a few years. Went to sams and got 200 pounds of cat litter and put it in the back and it worked out well for me. Sometimes it got pretty sketchy

So the general consensus is no fox for the winters, which is what I figured. Anyone have any experiences with Lexus V8's?

Ever thought about a SVT Focus? Or a Panther platform such as a Crown Vic Sport, Grand Marq. Or Town Car?

Ever thought about a SVT Focus? Or a Panther platform such as a Crown Vic Sport, Grand Marq. Or Town Car? I would say Marauder but the only way you would get one for that is one that is best to shit.

I was actually looking at a p71 that another forum member on here owned. It's the only one that I would trust buying because it was a prisoner transport vehicle, so no long idle hours. Most of them are beat to hell and have long idle hours on them. I wish I could afford the gas and insurance for a SC lightning but that probably wont happen.

There harder to find but CV Sports are nice there not an interceptor. I used to DD a Town Car. Fast no, but got 21-22.5 mpg on the interstate. 16-17 in the city reliable parts were easy to get. Did well in the snow too good luck.
