Well here's the story. I have a 1992 LX vert. Its a project. So far its been running REALLY good. So last weekend I pulled it out of the garage and was letting it run in the driveway. Then it shut off like someone turned the key off. When I went to start it again it was really hard to start and was missing really bad. I got the car back in the garage (pissed off) and left it alone until today.
To date I replace the plugs and wires. I've also replace the alternator (it needed a new one) and today I replaced the distributor. Nothing has helped. I have good fuel pressure so I don't think its the pump.
Anyone got any ideas?

Sure your spark is good and always present? Check the crank trigger? Is there any after market ignition booster box on the car (Mallory, Accel, MSd, Crane)? Try bypassing it if so.

Hmm, well, if you replaced the distributor and plugs and wires, that should eliminate the pick up coil and tfi module. Make sure fuel pressure is constant and also verify there is not a chip on the computer. Also, is the neg battery cable original? If not, how is the main computer ground grounded?

It has a trunk mount battery.

How should the computer be grounded?

Computer ground is up by where the battery was. Common mistake is to cut the wire going to the battery ground and leave it connected to inner fender. This won't work, needs to be ran all the way back to the negative terminal on the battery in the trunk. Use 10g wire and solder all connections and use heat shrink. Wire is black and has a single in/out connector. Usually near the starter relay. First thing I would do. Could be your computer has fried if the ground is loose or corroded. Try grounding the pin 43, signal return wire that is in the EEC IV Diagnostic connector up by the driver's side hood hinge. Hope this helps. Is check engine light on?

Well I tried the ground wire. You were right, it was cut. Ran a jumper to the negative on the battery with no luck. If the computer was fried would the car still start?

That means the computer's fried. You need to get the ground ran to the battery. Before you replace the computer.
