I have a 92 lx and I'm looking for a good tire size for my 15x8 Weld draglites. Currently they have 275/60/15 and they are too big. My car is going to be a street car that I will be putting summer miles on. Any thoughts?

Ive ran both 275/50's and 245/60's on an 8 inch wheel.

Gearing can play a factor in this as well Rusty. Do you know the diff gear ratio? 275/60/15 would be a 28" and going to a 275/50/15 would be a 26" if memory serves me correctly. I believe more fox body factory tire heights were closer to 26". You can find a tire size calculator on most tire shop websites that will also help you. discounttiredirect.com has one in their information section about mid way down in the left column. The 26" will be an inch shorter and a bit wider than what you currently have on the car.

I ran a 325/50 on an 8" rim, it is a good bit wider then the 275 and is 28" tall, had to roll the outer lip and beat the inner wells all to hell but they did fit. Rubbed going around some turns but was a minor thing. As stated above the 275/60 is a 28" tall tire and the 275/50 is a 26" tall tire, the 275/50 does fit better for most with a tight wheel well but I would think the 275/60 would be fine with some wheel well work.
Pic of the 325 on a 10" rim before mini-tub with stock length axles. Tire was a bit slimmer with the 8" rim.
