Hey folks,

I am going back and forth on this. I want to get a manual rack for my foxbody project. The car has full drag suspension on it (k member and a arms, coilovers in front, spherical bushing control arms and axle bushings out back, drag springs, anti roll bar and strange 10 ways all the way around). I want to drag race with it (probably not on any certain level of competition) and play around but I know also that it will probably see far more street time, and be driven to and from the track. It won't have sway bars and will have skinny's on it all the time.

I look all over the internet and see mixed opinions all over the board. I see that the quick ratio is twitchy, or that the standard ratio is a bear to handle.

I'll also be running the bumpsteer eliminators as well.

What do you all think?

Ive always ran the standard ratio with no issues. While stopped it was a little rough but once you start movement, it steers as normal.

Did we ever determine what the one I had was?

thats always what I heard too, once you're moving their not bad.

No I don't recall.

But do you also drag race it at the track or is your car just a street car?

I've driven both and I prefer the quick ratio unless its a track only car.

So, You have driven a quick ration on the street and at the track? how was it at the track?

I am used to the quick/moderate ration of the power steering car. My 89 GT was like 2.2 turns to lock and it was awesome.

In theory my car would be mostly street with some time spent at the track on weekends.

It's just a little touchy at the track but it was never a problem. Street driving is great!

I went with standard because I heard at high speeds it's too twitchy with the quick ratio.

OK. I'm sold on standard ratio.

I have been running the quick ratio for years and I haven't had any issues.
