So, picked up a Vortech V2 supercharger off of EBay for $1,500. Got rid of the 3.5 inch intake tube that came with the kit and built a custom 4 inch intake tube. Use a Mapp gas torch to weld the bungs and everything together. The air filter that came with with the Vortech kit had a restrictive 2.5 inch opening, changed that to a full 4 inch air filter.
Also installed a new Victor Jr intake and new fuel rails. Not too thrilled with the solid fuel line in front connecting the two fuel rails. Will replace with braided lines to clean it up. The intake install was a pain in the ass. The Edelbrock fuel rails did not have a place to mount the fuel rail pressure sensor, so had to buy an adapter from Summit and relocate to the rear. No difference between between the stock plastic intake and the new intake below 3 grand. Above that feels like a new motor.
For some reason the new intake moved everything forward a half inch. Had to heat the EGR tube and bend it. Then had to cut a half inch out of the supercharger discharge tube and weld it back up and repaint it.
Picked up some 42lb injectors, Focus SVT fuel pump, Kenne Bell Boost a pump, 90 mm MAF (keeping it draw thru for now). Believe that should be enough fuel for now. Had to buy new silicone couplers, new belt, new bypass valve and inlet temp sensor.
Waiting for a methanol injection kit to come in and new idler pulleys before I install it. List of current mods include BBK 78 mm throttle body, Comp cams XE270 cams, BBK shorty headers, Accel coil pack.
Never mind the bugs in the radiator, it's my daily driver, lol. The supercharger seems fine, no sure how to spin it up and test it. Didn't see that the bearings made any noise or rattled. Going with the stock pulleys for now.
