Planning within the next two weekends.
We will all be waiting on a video!!! Im sure you are more anxious than we are!
I will insure that something gets posted once I have this thing running for everyone Brian, especially you... Lol
Haha that's what I like to hear!!
I cant read so I just look at pictures or watch video!!
Picked up a couple more pieces today to help insure that this thing is running by next weekend.
Well what did ya get???
Holding out on us!!! Don't keep us in suspense!!
Lol, I went and got the magnetic pick up cable for the MSD ignition and the carb bracket for the throttle linkage, (2) important factors in being able to start and drive this bad boy.
See ... That wasn't so hard, Now was it ??? LOL
Coming along ... Can't wait to hear it run ...
Lol, No, No it wasn't...
Well, I finished up a couple more things this evening, the car will be ready to start this weekend. Working on getting at least 10-gallons of race fuel, this will be the only thing to prevent me from starting it this weekend.
Does it actually need race gas to start and run? There's not going to be any load on the engine at idle or free reving.
I don't know, I'm just asking.
Not sure about just to start, idle or reving it. It's a 13.5:1 engine and I just do not want to take any chances on hurting something. Way to much money and time into this thing to take a chance.
That's kinda what I was thinking about the fuel also. With no load I think it would be fine, but I agree about not wanting to hurt it also. No reason to chance it.
Screw it go buy some cheap swifty gas and let her rip.
I talked to Rob Kropfeld yesterday and he said that he should have some but I haven't heard from it yet today. If all else fails, without a load on it, it may be Ok to run 93 just for a start up.
Yeah Id say the 93 and maybe even adding some Octane boost would be ok to just start it.
All I believe I need to do know is top off all of the fluids, run my return line from the fuel pump to the fuel cell and then put fuel in it.
Let's fire this thing up...
Kinda hard to work on the car from inside on the computer! Get out there and do work son!
Everything is ready now to attempt to fire it up again. Had issues with the carb dumping fuel into the intake, had to pull all of the plugs and let it air out.
How about now?
Having trouble uploading vid lol
All I have to say is, you guys suck, Thanks for the pick me up.
Had to leave after posting this today to go and pick the kids up from a friends that they stayed the night at. We had dinner there and then just recently returned home.
To late to try and actually start the car but I did put the plugs back in and turned it over, while turning it over I did turn the ignition on and it did a few rumbles.
Can't wait for tomorrow and to actually start it to let it run for a while.
Tomorrow has came and went!!! Where is the video? Its cold and Im stuck inside, the least you could do is give me some videos to watch or pictures to look at!!!
I hate winter!
Well, with the new day came some new issues. The MSD 7Al-2 ignition box I had took a dump prior to being able to start it. I shipped out the 7AL-2 yesterday back to MSD to evaluate for repair, if someone has something laying around I wouldn't mind borrowing something to get this thing running?
Now you have this to read Brian, Lol
Thanks buddy! It was good talking to ya today! Had me nervous there for a minute! I haven't heard back from my buddy yet on his 6A box but Im sure he'll get back with me tomorrow. I know Id like to hear it fire up soon!
Still in need of something to get this running to just get the fluids flowing and adjust some things, let me know.
You can borrow mine. You know mine works
There you go!!!
Borrowed an 7AL-2 from Rob Kropfeld today, more to come now.
Well, didn't make as much progress as I would have liked on this today. Couldn't get this thing to want to fire even with the borrowed MSD ignition and now knowing I had good spark. After doing multiple things and spending hours on trying to figure it out, I decided that I would try the race fuel and ditch the 93 octane. Best decision I made all day on it, once I did that it now wants to run. I need to tend to a few things and then it should be ready to go, I will then take a video of it running and post it for everyone.
Awesome job!
Awesome to hear! Good luck with the rest man!
Thanks guys, I will do my best.
Damn, Shane....I wonder why it didn't want to start on 93?
Well, here is the newest development, it is officially alive. After church and breakfast I tinkered with it some more, had it running at an idle for about 3 minutes before shutting it down. Man you talk about being absolutely excited...
My friend took a video on his phone but it was absolutely crap, I have a few things I want to do before starting it again, but once I do, I will use something better for everyone to view.
No way!!! I don't believe you!
Not until video proof that is!!
