Hey do you think you can do my factory Jeep Rubicon Wheels? Will it stick??? OMG I would love them to be black. Can you PM a price??? If its possible...
Hopefully cheaper than buying new wheels. Also does it affect balancing at all??
I would also like the chrome headlight trim rings done as well.
Description...
16"x8", 5 spoke production "MOAB" wheel, polished Machine Face clearcoat, with Jeep center cap.
Cast Aluminum Wheels are polished Machine Face and have been treated in a durable clear coat finish. All wheels designed to meet Chrysler strength, corrosion and balance standards. Wheels are sold individually with a Jeep logo center cap.
Here is closeup a pic of them...

Well I can finally get back to work. I picked up my new compressor on Tues and got it all plumbed in today. This is my first try w/ iron pipe and I don't think I did all that bad. Hopefully I'll have a report on how the new setup works tomorrow. Anyway here are a few pics. BTW the compessor came from Eaton Compressors in Eaton, OH. They build a really nice compressor and the owner even took the time to introduce himself and thank me for buying a compressor from them. If anyone is looking for a compressor I would definately look into them they are not the cheapest but they do add a ALOT of little extras that you don't see on most compressors. I would say this will be the last one I buy for at least 25-30yrs.

lookin good. as long as you change the oil and blow down your tank every other day it should last you a long time. Usually with an air line you use galvanized pipe instead of black iron. The BI will rust if you have quite a bit of water in your system. As long as your blow down after a days use you should be fine.
The black iron actually came in a kit that is why I used it. Trust me, draining the system will happen a few times a day. I have ball valves everywhere on this setup so draining is a piece of cake.
You should be fine then. You can always buy a automatic drain if you get lazy down the road :D
Finally back up and running. Here is todays work. These are factory wheels off of a Victory motorcycle done in SD Wet Black

Do you have any satin Bronze, Gold or Gunmetal?
I'm thinking of fixing up my wheels and getting them in a different color...
Also what's the price for two valve covers in black wrinkle?
Kenny the wheels turned out great can't wait to pick them up.
I have Sund Gold here in stock. The one on the left has a glossy clear coat the one on the right has no clear.Quote:

Here is another pretty cool color I finally got around to shooting a sample of yesterday. It is called Viking stainless steel. I may use this to turn some of my brass lamps a nice stainless look.

Can you do the same blue that all the new Ford crate motors have on the valve covers?
I have looked for it but you know how Ford is. I have a color that is similar but is not exact. It is pictured in this thread on a valve cover if you want to see it.
Dropped off some valve covers last night. :bigthumb
Here are a few from today so far. First are some wiper arms in 40% gloss black. The rest are procharger piping and brackets for a hemi truck in mirror black.

Damn those wiper arms look killer...better than they ever looked from the factory.
Color of the day is Ultimate Chrome w/ Diamond Acrylic Clear coat
Here are some 3.8 factory valve covers

damn good work, makes me want to start looking for stuff to get coated.
After seeing his examples, bro. I want to get my whole engine bay powdercoated!! Ill pick up the covers tomorrow, Kenny.
Side note - I have Chrome BBK covers but the bastards leaked like a sieve. Even with RTV. The BBKs dont have baffles under the pcv holes and my friggin catch can was totally full after a 600 mile trip. Oil was all over the place. So instead of going back to drab stockers, I did the next best thing. Cant wait to see them in person.
Well I've gotten alot of people how well high temp powder holds up but I've never been able to give a good answer from personal expierence. Well that will change here soon. I ordered new exhaust for the powerstroked Excursion and powdered it high temp black. I hope to have it on in the next few days so we will see how well it holds up. Here are 2 of the 3 big pieces. I could have never dreamed of doing parts like these in that little oven.

Haha are those MR2 parts Ty's stuff?
Yep, he brought me more parts tonite. He even brought the engine cradle/subframe. Thanks for the referal, I'll have to know off a couple bucks when you are ready for your engine parts to be done.Quote:

Well here is the rest of my truck exhaust. What I had on the other ones was high temp flat black but ran out so I bought some gloss black just to compare the difference. I also looked on MBRP's website and they sell the same exhaust that is powdered for $300 extra over the cost of the exhaust:eek:

I think they look just a little better. Color is Ultimate Chrome w/ Diamond Acrylic Clear and the valve cover is wrinkle red. That subframe is the heaviest thing I've done so far, this big oven really is making life easier.
Looks great.
Got the valve covers installed. Looks awesome.
Post up a pic with them on the car when you get a chance.Quote:

Well at least in pics it looks like the chrome powder matches the polished stuff pretty well. Thanks for posting up some pics the engine is looking SWEET!!
I like the powder porn.
