We got the news at the hospital this morning about losing Vinny. Seems Rachael's brother David was good friends with Vinny, they've been playing music together for some time. I guess Vinny had known Rachael since she was a youngster! Craig said he didn't feel right posting pictures of the baby today, you know, celebrating his joy while mourning the loss of a friend, didn't seem right on this forum. But we talked a bit, reminisced about Vinny. Craig said whenever he and Rachael would see Vinny, that Vinny would rub Rachael's pregnant belly and ask about the baby. Sounded to me this is EXACTLY what Vinny would have wanted, to celebrate life, the birth of a child, and share in another's joy. I have to believe Vinny will be watching over the new baby from above. So I present to you Parker James Storn.

Vinny knew Rachael and her family long before I had met Rachael... or Vinny for that matter. It was another connection for us as we began our relationship. And when he found out we were dating he was very excited. The last several times I saw him, he always asked how Rachael was doing with the pregnancy... whether she was with me or not. He would ask if he would get to see the baby at the track this summer... or at a Cruise In. It saddens me even more to know that he did not get the chance to meet Parker, nor will he at the track or a cruise in. I know he would have been excited to see the little guy and all his hair!
I know it sounds like I am rambling... and I probably am, but I just wanted to get something down to get it out of me. My thoughts are with Holly and Amanda as they endure this difficult time. It is comforting, however, to know that those two have such a large family and support group in SBZ.
