Dang it I forgot all about this again!!! I so want to be interested iny car again, but everytime I look at it I just want to make it gone...
We had a good time and the subs were fantastic.
Well Sub Station II's cruise-in is just around the bend. It should be a very interesting evening. It looks like DJ Tony is going to take the :eek:Monster Challenge. Here's the run down of what he needs to do. A Double stacked whole sub with all the fixings. 5 POUNDS of sandwhich. 1 pound of fries and a :chug:32 oz drink with ...no ice.:chug: That is 7 POUNDS of food!! 1 hour to complete it. $20 to get in it. Just by looks alone he has plenty of room to put all that. I think he might be able to pull it off. I don't know how long he will be able to hold it down. Anyway, Friday looks like it's going to be a very nice night out. So bring the family out to have a good time with us. The challenge will begain at 8 p.m. and the Cruise-In will start at 6 p.m. to whenever and don't forget your door prize and split the pot tickets.
:sbowns:
Who's coming out?
I came out for a few...nice little cruise in. I was embarrassed of how filthy my car was!!! On a positive note the liquer store there is pretty nice.
*sigh* missed again.
saw the monster challenge (DJ tony is mine and my wife's friend) and saw DJ tony and 2 other familiar faces on fox19 news doing it!
Made it out, the subs were tasty.
I cruised through about 6:00 and then went and ate and cruised through again.. I didn't see anything I was impressed with so I left. I guess I'm just not a big fan of cruise in's.. it's usually a bunch of old ass cars and old guys talking about the old days and some corny music from the 60's.
something like this! lol

i have to add that even though I'm in the younger crowd (27) that I've seen the local NKY area grow, falter and now grow again with events, and nowadays these are more family oriented.
Previously, florence used to be the place to be friday/saturday nights for myself personally, had the NKYFBA guys at a parking lot (which I believe they still do) the grouping of the import crowd, truck guys and general custom folks at another parking lot as well. Good amount of cruising going on, most ppl not being total idiots. You looked forward to seeing your friends on a weekend nightly basis. Then the local scene pretty much fell flat on it's face. Nobody out etc.
Nowadays you have Culver's Tuesdays, Sub Station on wednesdays, and others in between. I think it's great! I remember when I first started driving and there was NOTHING going on lol
Anyone from the Florence area remember when they tried and completed the one-way on Dream Street? Man what a cluster bomb...it helped kill the cruising for sure but it also killed business for shop owners so they then made it two-ways again. I use to sit there at McDonald's and count the number of cars that would enter from the 42 side into a one-way and just sit there in the middle of the road wondering...wtf ? Kinda makes me a little leary with the cruise in at sub if business owner's start complaining again. I hope not, I miss those days of just cruising and hanging out with friends, even if I am 40 now
As soon as I get my car back I'll be appearing more often :bigthumb
