I don't think you will have to look too hard. I'm sure your garage looks like a car blew up in there. While you got everything apart this is the perfect time to get some stuff done. Maybe I'll have to start a bulk discount. BTW the car is coming along nicely:bigthumbQuote:

2 garages worth, lol. Thanks, I hear paint is flying this weekend! If you had a bigger oven, we could have done the car in wrinkle black and said hell with the body work!
One day mine will get paint too, hopefully. Can't wait to see that blue on the car I'm sure it will look kick ass.
Looks awesome, very nice work. How do you powdercoat plastic? Doesn't it need baked? How do you cure it without melting it?
If i wanted some valve covers done, what would it cost me?
I see the need for a price sheet.I think that would be a great idea.Im spreading the word around work also.
I've been showing off pictures of my intake Kenny :bigthumb
You can't do all types of plastic however there are some like LS-X chevy intakes and covers that seem to hold up to the temps. You also do them at a lower temp just for a longer period of time. If anyone has a junk plastic intake from a Ford I would love to try to do one of those.Quote:

Any chance you can do ceramic coating? What are you baking in?
No not doing ceramics yet. That may be a ways down the road. It takes a special gun and the paint is very expensive. I do plan to start doing high temp powders soon which will withstand temps in 1200deg range. Timido had his headers powdered 3yrs ago and they are still holding up really well.Quote:

I've heard that for some reason, white powdercoat holds up on headers really well...don't know if there's any truth to that. If i ever pull my headers off, i need to do something with them...they're Mac full lengths and they're rusted up pretty bad.
If the guy you know can't blast your stuff, I do have a blast cabinet so blasting them is not a problem.
Yeah, I am debating whether to have a part or two powdercoated black. One of which I know will fit in your oven while the other I am not sure of. I'll get some dimensions for you so you can let me know if it will fit in your oven. It may be too big. We will be in touch.

You guys wanna see something kinda cool. This is dormant yellow gold metallic. The first one is right out of the oven after the first coat. The second is right after the clear coat went on and the third is after final cure. It completely changes colors. Well at least I thought it was pretty cool.:o

Out of curriosity, how much would it cost to get a set of 4 pony rims and center caps coated satin black with a silver lip?? pm me about it when you get a chance.
Thanks, Mark
Did a couple things today. I have some extra rods laying around so I thought I would use them as test pieces.

That stuff looks good Kenny!
Hmmm I wonder how close the wrinkle red is to the intake on my STi??? I would love to do some under hood stuff that color if its a close match.
I can do some ivestigative work and find out which wrinkle red matches it perfect. I'm pretty sure someone makes one that matches the Subi's nearly dead on.Quote:

Very nice work Kenny, wow stuff looks killer!
Well I couldn't stand not having gun so while my new replacement was being shipped I went ahead and bought another one. The guy I got it from also had some powder he gave me so I thought I would play with a few colors tonight. The first one was marked Maytag blue but it actually looks pretty close to windveil blue, however it looks very baby blue in the pics. BTW I have like 10lbs of this stuff which is a ton.

This is dormant blue and it looks AMAZING in person. The pic does not do it justice in the least bit. I would say it looks pretty close to Sonic blue.

It would be nice if i could get my coupe powder coated in the dormant blue.
Man would that be sweet!!
You aren't kidding, I just hope one day I can afford an oven that size.
Rainbow rods
Lets put an engine together with every different color! haha
See ya tomorrow Kenny! I should get there about 20 after 5 depending on traffic :bigthumb
Did not do much over the weekend other than build some shelves for the garage to mount my furnace on. Yeah I will finally have a heated garage. Anyway I did get some center caps powdered for Andy.

I'll post up pics of my "assembled" intake when I have time... It looks pretty sweet!
Dude.Those are freakin SWEET!!!!
I also found some black lug nuts, but those are kinda pricey.70 bucks.
Ill try to swing down there some time this week to get those.
It was nice meeting you at the shop the other day. Can't wait to see Adam's turbo come out.
Nice meeting you too. It may be a little bit on the turbo housing, I did some more research and ceramic is going to be the way to go so I think he is going to wait till he gets all the exhaust made up and do it all at once.
Here's a pic from my cell phone of the intake that Kenny powdercoated.
I will vouch for how strong these coatings are... I forgot I put it in the trunk of my Lincoln and was driving it sorta hard when I heard it roll around in the trunk... whoops...
So I pulled it out of the trunk and looked at it... The brace in the trunk whacked it hard on the ear of the intake... and if it were paint... it would have screwed it up BAD! But since it is powdercoat... It hardly even knicked it! :bigthumb
You sir are a badass!
Can you do my entire truck?
Can you do bolts? I have a idea I wanna try!
Thanks Higgy. As far as the whole truck, not yet but maybe one day I will have an oven that big. We could go piece by piece right now though.Quote:

Yep I can do bolts, just let me know what you've got in mind.Quote:

awesome work as usual. looking foward to bringing my stuff over soon!
Cool! I'm looking into a fuel door but want to twist it up a bit and try and do something different. I want to get the polished/chrome one and highlight the GT in red (Torch Red) and do the bolts in a black to stand out against the ring.
Here's a little something I just whipped up to give ya and idea. Let me know what ya think?
Hey can you quote me out doing a set of 4.6 DOHC valve covers ;) Thanks
Also can you do the heads of bolts?
Here is a 3v cover in wrinkle black.
