I don't think they'll bitch about going .2 faster than your cage is certified. At least you have one lol.
I just hate to deal with it. Id rather be safe up front. Most of the time, its another racer that bitches about it that gets you looked at.
Good luck on the roll bar if you get into the 9s. Every time I ran my Mustang there I was kicked out until I got the 8.50 cert cage. It's the only reason I did it. Had the same problem at KK as well.

I got the same thing for that Rick. No roll bar padding and I had to stay under 11.50's.
First pass was a 10.80 I think and they didn't say to slow down so I didn't.
I got bitched at for no cage as well after I went back to back 9.7s in the eclipse early in the year. Went back with the new motor and they got on me for no roll padding in tech. Went 9.7 then a 9.57 and never heard anything that day, but I loaded it up and didn't push my luck any more. The next weekend they asked for NHRA license and got on me for my cage, limited me to 6.5s in the 1/8 and 10.0s in the 1/4 that day.
License... Now there is another thing I need to get if it picks up much. Where does it end?
I'm just going to build mine as fast as I can. If I go to the track I'll probably go to clay city or Thornhill. They don't have cage restrictions. I hear Tristate is pretty laid back. Plus my buddy just bought Vengeance racing's 1500rwhp twin turbo z06. With recent mods it made 1780rwhp. We've been talking about doing the 1/2 mile events. They don't have cage restrictions like the drag strips.

They all have cage requirements but whether or not they choose to enforcement is something entirely different.
With all the crashes lately, Id rather be safe. I can think of a few right off that wouldn't be here without a cage.
All this HP & $$$$$ you guys are adding/spending and you are NOT putting in a cage?? Thats just stupid. Let me know how that works out for ya when you lose traction and go head first into the wall and barrel roll down the strip. :rolleyes:

From the impression I got from them when I was out there talking to the guys, I'd say if a few of us rolled out there, we'd get some races. I think that would be on my top ten bucket list. Even tho I don't like street racing, I'd have to put that aside for an evening. lol.Quote:

Well, heads are ported, valve job done. Now I need to assemble them and put them on the shortblock and start putting the turbo kit together on it. Then build the one for the other blue and orange car with the blower.

The vert is on a diet. Stripped it down to a shell in December. Starting to put it back together. Rear end is in, front suspension is together and I finished brakes and steering last weekend. My new sleeved short block finally and get ally arrived. My Cobrajet Exhaust cams are here, just got to assembled and on the rollers. I am going to see where it's at, but I may do a little something extra once I see the final numbers. I am looking for just enough to stay in the 8s on the worst DA day, then let it eat in cool weather.
