I figured I'd take the nitrous rumors off Shannon and stick them on you!!
I appreciate that, everyone needs a fall guy.
Just let Shannon know that he's welcome for me to take some of the heat for a while.
So, as for everyone that was at E20 on Friday. They know that I had a technical issue that caused the car to smoke while going down the track like a freight train on my second pass. Well, after some evaluation with my brother, here is what we didn't find keeping the oil from under coating the entire car and components!
Not happy about it, but at the same time I thank God that worse things didn't happen as a result from this!

I'll make sure he knows!!!
Good thing you caught that. Hope all is well and everything is good now.
I believe everything is Ok, still had good oil pressure so I don't think anything is hurt. going to drain the oil and see how much was actually lost from it and to check for any fragments.
All I can say is, it wasn't pretty under there.
Most of you don't know but I have been chasing an excessive valvetrain noise that I just couldn't figure out. This is one reason for being so nervous to make that first pass down the track, as most could tell, Lol. I decided to pull the valve covers again today just to give things a once over again. I started checking the rocker movement and to my surprise I found excessive movement between the rocker itself and the trunnion. I'm going to call Comp Cams tomorrow and see if they still offer the rebuild kits for these rockers. I also have a charging system issue, had the 1-wire GM Delco Remy alternator tested at J&N Auto Electric and they said it was good. So I'm going to replace the battery being it is a couple years old and see if this helps, I was only able to start the car 5-6 times and then it was dead. I guess that's to be expected with the new build jidders.
You probably already know it but grounds are a big deal on a battery relocation. I was having a charging issue that ended up being a missing ground to the frame in the back of the car, even though the battery was tied directly to the back of both heads.
Secondly I thought it was fixed because my voltage was much better but realized my battery disconnect didn't work, so I ran the charging wire from the alt all the way back to the battery side of the switch and it's better than ever. The lowest I've ever seen it is 13.5 volts.
Thanks Rick, I will eventually figure it out. It sounds like a ground to me as well but the alternator from what I understand is self grounded to the engine and shouldn't require anything else. So with that being said, I'm going to add some ground straps to the engine block to see if that helps out.
Yep self grounding, unless the engine isn't grounded well, lol.
Good luck, you'll figure it out.
Going to pull the rockers off today as well and get them sent out to Comp Cams.
Went ahead and got a new battery as well, couldn't hurt I would think.
Get it done so you can put that NX Kit on and Turn that Bitch Up !!!
I installed the new battery and guess what? The initial power output from the alternator now starts out at 14v and hangs in steady at 13.55-13.79, I think that's good to start with? Lol
Now it's time to remove the rockers,2-3 weeks to get them back.
Just buy a New Set Mr. Money !!!
Then you'll have the rebuilt ones as spares ...
Well, I know how everyone here loves photos. So lets play a game of "What's missing in this picture?"

Has anyone figured it out? That's correct, the roller rockers. Getting ready to ship them out tomorrow!

I'm thinking that your Askeerded !!!
