ya...13-14:1 compression makes a big difference.
The compression is exactly 12.7
Man makes me wish I had more compression. I'm at 10.1:1 and it's getting more when the heads come off for sure. My last dyno was on 89octane and it seemed to not even care. Lol. Very nice work. I have a 347
Sure it is. Just needs a splash of race fuel. Lol
Cars running pump gas are better.:bigthumb
Pump gas is for pussies
12.7 compression would be good to run E85 in. It would probably pickup a little more hp also.
E85 I junk also. I know your car runs 9s but it would be faster with good gas
I want 15 more. Tell me how.
150shot!!!! Then you'd have over 600+/-rwhp, 9 second timeslips, 135+mph traps!!!
Or...pull the belt off of it! lol
I think I'm gonna try a little race gas or at least 93 octane and give it a little more timing. My goal at this point is 500. Maybe tune it on a cooler day. It was 89 in the dyno room. Lol
It was 92 in here when Mike Dyno'd his.:(
I would love to hear one vaild reason E85 is "junk" fuel and I don't mean because Billy down the street put it in his car and it blew up. E85 is no more a "junk" fuel than methanol, nitromethane, or anyone of of the dozens of leaded race fuels on the market. Like anything else it takes proper planning, proper parts, and proper tuning.
Craig(metcalf) is negative about everything. If his middletown butt buddies don't use it then it's not cool. You didn't know he's like Vin Diesel?
Not to mention that leaded fuel like Turbo Blue is no good for O2 sensors. At $40-50 a piece for Motorcraft O2 sensors race gas is even more costly to use.
If you can't afford to race a fast car don't build one.
And that's still no explanation or justification for your claim that E85 is junk fuel. That's kid of like saying if you can't afford VP Q16 at like $14/gallon you shouldn't build a fast car.
whoever built that engine did a kick ass job :bigthumb ... 1.4hp per cubic inch is NO joke ... apply that to a 408 and you're closing in on 600hp ...
everyone is saying they are out of the box heads ... which version are they? ... the twisted wedge 170's, the Fast As Cast 190's or the CNC 185 or 205 versions? ...
I'm glad I don't run race gas cause I can't afford this race stuff.
How much it costs doesn't mean it's fast I've had my ass handed to me by stock trans ams with a 700shot triple action fogger kit that cost 80 bux on craigslist. Lol
HE HAS TO BE SPRAYING NITROUS!!!!
Well that's more or less the response I expected. You have no proof its nothing more than your opinion that was formed because someone you know tried it, screwed up, and blew his shit up. I guess that since you've owned something like 9 million Mustangs all of which were the fastest street cars in the land I should take it as the word of God himself.
... and before you can suggest it my car is slow and no I don't want to race you.
I do know. Mike whitt with silver chevelle that says Blown Income on the hood switched to it and it has slowed down a half a second. And he's happy with it. If you can't afford to use the right fuel than you shouldn't build and engine that needs it. E85 takes like 32% more fuel and its only 100-105 octane depending on the season. Plus its a dirty fuel like diesel. So like I said run your crap gas and be slow. Guys like me with good gas will continue to laugh at you
