Modular Depot Bradenton 2007 Race Report

Just wanted to let you know how we are doing down here in Brandenton at the NMRA 2007 opener. We brought Victor Downs 4V Pure Street Car, Steve Gifford's 2V Factory Stock Car and Derrick Kernodle's Mystic Cobra Modular Muscle Car.

Friday afternoon didn't start out so well with Steve breaking a ring and pinion on a test pass. Luckily we got it swapped out and made the call. That put us in the #1 qualifying spot with a 11.56@116.

Victor, who is still getting used the car now that it's hooking checked in at the #3 qualifying spot in Pure Street with a 10.55@127 getting the top MPH for the round.

Derrick is #4 qualifier with a .026 reaction time.

I see Tony Bischoff is running Pro50 again - I thought he sold the Cougar and was not going to drive anything this year - glad to see him run!

    Lots of local folks running!

I think Tony had to go try his luck at that $25 G.

I herd some rumors of maybe a different driver the rest of the year.

Best of the weekend was a 1.37

Unfortunately he was having problems with it breaking up bad in top of 3rd and all of 4th. Finally tracked it down to plug wires. 3rd round he ran a 10.48@129 but unfortunately blew the tires off and only had a 1.42 60'. So if we can put up another 1.37 with the new plug wires and top end charge back, we are definitely in the hunt.

Steve wound up #1 qualifier with 11.55@117.
