FS - 1978 VW Vert Beetle (BUG)

Yes folks I am parting with my VW Bug.

I bought this for my wife two years ago and have put a lot on man hours into it. I need to sell it as we are downsizing our Herd, currently 5 cars is too many.

    Description:

    1978 VW Beetle Convertible (Karmann)

I estimate the car has just over 100K miles on it, but have no way to be sure. The Odometer has rolled over.

The car is a solid 7.5 out of 10 and has a lot going for it. It has been looked over by a mechanic I use as well as the body shop who told me the car was solid. The three lateral beams were in fine shape.

It was a Florida car, it sat for a while till an elderly gentleman picked it up to tow behind his motor home. Unfortunately he passed away prior to seeing it finished. The mechanic picked it up for a friend and she had it for a couple years while he worked on it. She finally gave up on it and sold it to me. When I bought it, it was 60% done. I put the top on, rear window in, finished the interior, tuned it up and chromed it up a bit.

I had it at the body shop to have fixed some rust behind the rear seat, they cut out the rust and welded in some steel and painted it.

It was painted prior to me getting it. A good job, but not perfect (no rust).
New floor pans (Done right) and side supports
    New Headliner
    New White Top
    New Black Boot Cover
    New Running Boards
    New Tires
    Brakes are good
    New Speedo Cable
    New Alternator
    New Distributor (Bosch 009)
    New Carb (34Pict3)
    New Pulley's (Billet Alum)
    New Plugs, and wires
    New carpets
    Center Console
    Wood Grain Dash
Rare Clock (not working but there)
    New seat covers (all around)
New weatherstripping, some not yet installed
Good bumpers and bumper shocks (not collapsed)
New Struts and shocks (not installed yet)
New rear engine compartment tar boards
A pile of bits and bobs, misc items not used or not gotten to yet. Its all yours.

TOO much to list but these are the highlights. Heat, wipers, lights, switches etc all work fine. The only one I am not sure about is the rear defroster and washer system as I never had the opportunity to use it as it is a fun summer car.

    I am asking $8500.00
