i've got the vw beetle i need to do a so so front end alignment on,what do i need to measure to get it some what straight,i have an angle finder and level,i doubt this car will be fitting on a alignment rack.anything at home i can do??

As a rough guideline you can run a string from front to back and take measurements off of it. There are a few tricks to a do-it-yourself job. I have toe plates and a caster/camber gage if you need to borrow.

first you need to know if the front and rear track are the same width, then 4 jacks stands to form a box around the car with kite string.
