running without a spout

is there anyone running there car with the SPOUT out of it so that the timing is not computer controlled?

I don't have a running car, but for I've read about a lot of turbo guys running fixed timing with the spout pulled. You sacrifice low end torque and power up top by not adding advance after torque peak.... errr sumpin like dat.

My spout is disconected . Mine is a race only car but even driving around the pits and starting it I havent had any problems .
