    2008 Dirty Dozen

Here we go again! Its almost time for the tracks to open! Time to get out and have some fun! Same "rules" as last year (as greatly outlined by Vinny and Craig):

Vinny said it best. It was his idea to see the areas fastest STREET Mustangs & Capris. In his words:

Also, you can expect things to shake out at the end of this season to level the street-car vs race-car issue. We're going to pick a test and tune day at the end of the season, have all potential dozen members meet at a set location and DRIVE to the track and make passes. This will weed out the 5 gallon fuel cell race cars, prove their street credibility as well as keep the list local. If you can't make a test and tune session around here then you aren't local. We may recquire that all dozen list members attend the fall cruise-in as well to once again prove their street creds as well as their involvement with this site. We don't need one-post-wonders claiming to be a SBZ member, making the cut and leaving somebody off the list with more of a street car and more time on this site.

So with that, I'll start the first round.
"His car isn't really a street car" is something I hear a lot. Problem is, everybody's opinion on what a true street car is will be different. As the rules sit right now, a street car is defined as having license, tags and insurance. I made it this way only to parallel the NMRA Wild Street definition. This is probably the toughest one to call so making these cars come out on the street to stay on the list will make things more fair in my opinion. This can be accomplished by requiring the cars to drive to the track at least once and/or showing up at our big cruise-ins.

Remember kids, this is for fun, bragging rights and a decal....nothing more. No big money prizes, no sponsorship deals, no trophies....just some good ole boys bringing out their cars and putting a beating on 1320 feet of tarmac!

    Thanks for reading
    So lets recap.....

-A Participating member of Stangbangerz. That means, you show up to SBZ events, you show up to some SBZ get-togethers, you also make one of the following:
    -Running of the Ponys
    -Running of the Dozen
-Local T&T at E20 or TS with fellow SBZ members
-Running of the UMTR with fellow SBZ
-Attend the SBZ Track day in July
The Dirty Dozen was started by Vinny to get ALL of us motivated to come out and enjoy our Stangs together. We all know Vinny loved being with everyone at the track and he looked forward to racing along side each of us.

-A true street, Ford powered Mustang/Capri with insurance, tags and registration matching the car.

-Owner may have had help building his/her car, but they will race it. No hired shoes to race for them.

-If you break, blow up, change combo, your off the list till you re-run the car. All times before are void. No "one hit" wonders. If fail to post up that you broke to delibratey stay on the list, you are off...PERMANENTLY.

Oh and one more thing...it is STRONGLY suggested you have the NHRA level safety equipment for whatever times you are running. Its not a requirement, but we want to be sure everyone is safe while they are having fun. Besides, most tracks now require the proper equipment.

I think that covers it. If you have any questions, post them up in the discussion for the 2008 DD.

This post will be for Stangbangerz members, who are trying for the Dozen, to post up their ET and MPH. Please do not plug this thread up with discuss and BS - it will be deleted - keep posts to a minimal regarding anything else in here.

Thanks everyone. Lets make this a fast FOURTH year of the Dozen

Oh, and for the 1st one to break into the 8's...there is a little something in it for ya!

Some Housekeeping Notes for this thread:

-To be accepted you must post your 1/4 mile ET and 1/4 mile ET as a bare minimum. Give as many decimal points to your listing as is on your slip - it may make a difference (X.XXX @ XXX.X mph)
-You must also list at least one StangBanger that witnessed your run. ("ScreenName" witnessed my run)
-You must list the date, approx. time and location/track of your run
-Feel free to write as much as you want about your run, the day, the car, your set-up, the weather, etc. - we all enjoy reading about your triumphs and tribulations.

This list is ONLY for this information - any discussion about the DD, Trash Talking, Rules, or other garbage must be in the other appropriate Threads or Topics (i.e.: 2008 DD Rules Discussion, Whipping Room, etc.) Failure to abide will result in having your post removed at a bare minimum. Repeat offenders may have all their posts removed including their posted run.

Most of all the one big final "rule" - go out, run your beast, have fun, spend some time with the other gear heads and enjoy yourself!

New addition!!!! This year will be the inaugeral year for the "Wicked Women" of Stangbangerz. Top dozen!

Rules will be the same as for the DD except as follows:
    - All participants must be genetically female and be able to prove it.
    - For 2008 any vehicle is eligible, but of course the Mustang/Capri is preferred (may be revised for next year).
    - ALL runs must be by the female participant. Car needs to be owned (name on the title) by the female person driving the car or immediate family member.

    Have fun ladies!

First time out, drove it there and drove it back. Should have easy 9's...the converter is definatly to loose...hit the 6700 limited 100' feet before the end and it still went on my safe tune.

60' timer was not working in the one lane all day

    mph 105.22

This was at e20, March 16, Madmod, 95turbo and a few others were there. Who ever things auto are boring need to take a ride, ran that 10.23 and it was all over the track even had to lift a little to say off the wall I don't think I've ever had to lift like that with the 5spd it was a wild ride
