Private areas create cliques.
This is fine I guess, but we all know that some private forum comments will bleed over into a public forum post in bits and pieces, make "inside" jokes that will be sure to get tossed into the whippin room.

Can't the same thing be thing be accomplished by using the Private Message feature?

I just don't see the benefit of doing more to divide the members of this forum even more.
